DAYTIMETV.NET STAR OF THE WEEK FEB. 6, 2001 Wednesday Simon learned his fate of his relationship with Lily when Lily came to the garage to tell him that it was over. As he tried to fight for her love and remind her all they were to each other, he heard the painful truth that Lily had chosen her family over him. Simon reminded Lily what he had given up to be with her. "I'm married to a girl I don't even know. I live in this awful dump and I have a kid on the way" Simon's pain was felt in every word Paul said and you could tell from the body language and vibes being sent across the television screen Simon was very hurt. After all he had come to the states with a mission, "grab that diamond". But instead he wound up on an island with Lily, fell in love with her, moved to Oakdale, married Katie to stay in the US, and after a one night stand affair...is supposedly the father of her baby. If I was a guy and Simon Frasier I would be bitter too. Simon wanted Lily to "keep the dream alive". He wanted her to fight for what they have but instead Lily slammed the door so to speak in his face. The breaking point for Simon was when Lily returned the letters that Simon had given to her that belonged to his grandfather. Simon then lost it. Those scenes are what made me hit rewind on my vcr and watch the tape over again. Passion, fire, and hurt all rolled into one. Hurt because he was losing the one thing he loved more than himself---Lily. Passion because part of him wanted to fight for Lily and the other half wanted to just let her go. Fire--you could see flames in Simon's eyes as you looked at him and saw that he really had loved Lily and that he really thought they could have a future together. And to have that dream shattered in a short conversation was devastating to him. But when you saw Simon hurt the most was when he told Lily that she used him to break up her mundane lifestyle as a housewife and to have a little passion and when the fire got to hot...she bailed. (Typical Lily move though) Simon Frasier is played by the very talented Paul Leyden who has been seen on previous shows like F.A.R.S.C.A.P.E., Beastmaster, and Home and Away. He also appeared in the film Under the Gun. Besides acting Mr. Leyden enjoys playing the saxophone and the guitar (which you have seen him do on the show already). |
