Scene 1:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers

SIMON FRASIER, MIKE KASNOFF, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Simon: Just relax, Mike, these people will get their money.
>> Mike: So the project's still on track?
>> Simon: Oh, yeah, the fast track.
>> Katie: What about your investor?
>> Simon: George Kirby just ran into a little bit of bad luck.
>> Katie: How bad?
>> Simon: He's still in play. In fact, I ran into the guy down in Santo Domingo.
>> Katie: What were you doing down there?
>> Simon: Helping Carly through the divorce. But listen, Mike, now that I'm back, accounts? Priority one.
>> Katie: How's Carly doing?
>> Simon: I think she's doing great. The divorce was a just a formality.
>> Katie: No divorce is just a formality.
>> Simon: Regardless, her freedom now awaits. Mike, these bills will get paid. Thank you once again for bringing them to my attention. Katie.
[ Simon leaves ]
>> Katie: Oh, my god. I can't believe Jack and Carly are actually over.
>> Mike: It's hard to believe.
>> Katie: Oh, god, I feel so bad for them. Maybe we should warn Carly just one more time that when Simon blows through your life, you're lucky if he leaves you with your toothbrush.
>> Mike: No. If Carly's grown up enough to get a divorce, she's grown up enough to make her own decisions about Simon.
>> Katie: You mean her own mistakes. What are the odds those bills are gonna get paid?
>> Mike: We did our part. It's not our problem.
>> Katie: You're right. I don't want Carly to get hurt, but we do have our own future ahead of us. Whatever happens to them, happens.
>> Mike: I'm glad to hear you say that.
>> Katie: Good, 'cause I got a call today. Not just any call -- a make-your-dreams-come-true kind of call.
>> Mike: All right, you got my attention. But I'm warning you. I don't want anybody making your dreams come true except me.

Scene 2:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder House

JACK SNYDER, PARKER, J.J.

>> Jack: Here, come on. Upstairs, go.
>> Parker: Did you sign my slip for the zoo?
>> Jack: Your mother did, yeah.
>> J.J.: This definitely isn't it.
>> Jack: No, it's not, J.J.
>> Parker: What is it, Jack?
>> Jack: It's just a paper I got to file. That's all.
>> J.J.: Divorce papers?
>> Jack: Yes.
>> Parker: Are they?
>> Jack: Yes, they are. Listen, your mother and I, we've been separated for a while now. We decided it would be best for everybody if we just went to a judge and made it official. But that doesn't even change everything, really. Guys, come on. It's just a bunch of legal stuff that we had to sign. That's all. We still love you. We still are going to sign your permission slips and chaperone your field trips and making lunches every night and listen to you tell us how you need water every -- although, I know it's just a stall tactic. But, what?
>> Parker: Nothing.
>> Jack: I don't want you guys to worry, okay? Everything's going to be fine.
>> J.J.: Ask him.
>> Parker: You ask him.
>> J.J.: I'm not going to ask him --
>> Jack: Ask me what -- guys, there's nothing we can't figure out. You know that.
>> Parker: It's about Mom.
>> Jack: What about her?
>> J.J.: Is she gonna marry that Simon guy or not?

Scene 3:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

[Doorbell rings ]
>> Carly: Oh, no. Look Simon, what are you doing here?
>> Simon: I need you.
>> Carly: Is that your best come-on?
>> Simon: I wish it was a come-on.
>> Carly: Look, it's late and I'm tired. And I've just come from Jack's -- and whatever it is, I'm sure it can wait until morning.
>> Simon: Carly, we have a problem --
>> Carly: What kind of problem?
>> Simon: A very big problem.
>> Carly: Well, that's scaring me.
>> Simon: All right, you remember George Kirby?
>> Carly: Yeah, the loser who tried to back out of our building deal, yeah --
>> Simon: Well, that loser has a bigger mouth than his bank account. In fact, Mike couldn't wait to tell me that he heard rumors that our project was in trouble.
>> Carly: What kind of trouble?
>> Simon: Well, I'll put it this way. For the next 48 hours, Carly, you're mine. I own you mind, body, and soul.

Scene 4:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

>> Carly: This is a small fortune, Simon.
>> Simon: Well, the money's not the problem.
>> Carly: Oh, I would say the money's the problem.
>> Simon: We can always find more money. Unless new investors and potential buyers hear that we're in trouble, then we're dead in the water.
>> Carly: How did Mike hear so fast?
>> Simon: I don't know. The construction crowd have their own grapevine. Anyway, look, I can cover our investment personally, but --
>> Carly: Well, then cover it, Simon.
>> Simon: It's just not a smart business move. All right, by the time I liquidate enough assets, our project would have already lost too much ground. You know, we need to put this fire out now. Get potential buyers into the units, get some cash, problem solved.
>> Carly: No, no, no, Simon. Those units are nowhere near being ready to sell.
>> Simon: That's why we're going to have broker's open house.
>> Carly: Okay, all right, so I guess if I -- if I really push it, I can have the model unit ready in three or four weeks --
>> Simon: How about the day after tomorrow?
>> Carly: Are you out of your mind?
>> Simon: We drag our feet on this, we're out of business.
>> Carly: All right, well, the small penthouse -- I guess that's the closest to being ready.
>> Simon: Perfect. That's great. Let's move on that. I knew you'd save me.
>> Carly: I'm saving myself.
>> Simon: All right, I bet you dinner at the Lakeview that we have a dozen contracts before that open house is over.
>> Carly: And I'll bet you we both have nervous breakdowns if we don't.
>> Simon: And put it this way, the sooner we get that cash in the bank, the sooner we can get back to what we started in Santo Domingo.

Scene 5:

Scene: Lakeview Towers

JACK SNYDER, CARLY SNYDER

[ Cell phone rings ]
[ Jack dreaming [
>> Carly: Jack, it's me. Are you okay?
>> Jack: Not really.
>> Carly: I'm so sorry. I don't want the divorce. Simon talked me into going to Santo Domingo. I never should have listened to him.
>> Jack: I've been staring at these papers, Carly. I just can't believe it's over.
>> Carly: It's not over, Jack, not for me. It never will be.
[ Cell phone rings ]
[ Reality ]
>> Jack: Hello?
>> Carly: Hi, it's me. I'm sorry to call so late.
>> Jack: It's okay.
>> Carly: It's been a long night.
>> Jack: I know what you mean.
>> Carly: Jack, I need a favor.
>> Jack: Sure.
>> Carly: Can you keep the kids for a couple more days?
>> Jack: Why? What's up?
>> Carly: There's sort of a crisis at work. And I have to complete a three-month project in two days.
>> Jack: What happened?
>> Carly: It's a long story, but I need to be working around the clock.
>> Jack: Carly, that's ridiculous. Simon should not take advantage of you like --
>> Carly: Jack --
>> Jack: Sorry, old habit. Just don't overdo it, okay?
>> Carly: No, no, I won't. This is a really great opportunity and I love the challenge. And if I'm successful, then you know I'll have something to be proud of for the first time in a long time.
>> Jack: Good luck.
>> Carly: Thank you and give the kids a kiss for me.
>> Jack: Will do.
>> Carly: Good night.
>> Jack: Good night.
