LUCINDA WALSH, LILY WALSH SNYDER, AND SIMON FRASIER
[Lily and Simon are kissing and Lucinda interrupts]
>> Lucinda: Wow. What on earth is going on here? What game is this?
>> Lily: How long have you been there?
>> Lucinda: Oh, long enough. Holden is out of favor. The infatuation is over.
>> Lily: Infatuation?
>> Simon: Look, Ms. Walsh, I'm afraid you don't understand.
>> Lucinda: You -- you be quiet. This is between me and Rose.
>> Lily: I'm Lily. I'm Lily. I'm your daughter, Lily.
>> Lucinda: Oh, come off it, sweetie pie. Can the act. It's pointless.
>> Lily: It's not an act. I'm your daughter. How could you confuse me with -- I can't even believe I'm having this
conversation.
>> Lucinda: Tell me why my daughter would be incarcerated.
>> Lily: It was a mistake. Someone mistook me for Rose. But at least it wasn't my own mother. Look at me, look at me in the
eyes. These are the eyes that have been looking at you for a lifetime.
>> Lucinda: Tell me why I saw you groping that guy who's made our life a misery.
>> Lily: There are lots of things that you don't know.
>> Lucinda: I think I'm beginning to put them together though, darling -- two and two. That's why you needed the money from
Craig. That's what you wanted it for -- for a plane ticket for you and him so that you could leave town again.
Scene 2:
Location: Oakdale Police Department Precinct Station
Scene: Jail
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND LUCINDA WALSH
>> Lily: What are you talking about? You've spoken to Craig? He's back in town?
>> Lucinda: I will answer your questions, dear, the day that you start answering mine.
>> Lily: What did Craig have to say?
>> Lucinda: It's very easy. He was so concerned that he called me to let me know you'd
borrowed money for a ticket to get out of town.
>> Lily: Well, that's very interesting considering I haven't spoken to Craig in years.
>> Lucinda: He was very certain it was you --
>> Lily: He must have me confused with Rose. He must have spoken to Rose. But why did you believe Craig?
>> Lucinda: Darling, frankly my dear, I don't know who to believe or what to believe anymore.
>> Lily: All this time we've been spending talking about Rose, she's probably half way out of town by now. Now if you believe
that I am your --
>> Lucinda: Oh, yes, dear. I believe that.
>> Lily: Well, then let's get out of here and track down Rose before things go too far.
Scene 3:
Location: Oakdale Police Department Precinct Station
Scene: Jail
LUCINDA WALSH, LILY WALSH SNYDER, AND OFFICER SHANKS
>> Shanks: Mrs. Snyder, I am so sorry about the mixup. It's just that you're a dead ringer for the other woman.
>> Lucinda: Let's get out of here. Come on. What?
LUCINDA WALSH AND LILY WALSH SNYDER
>> Lily: You go on ahead. I'll meet up with you.
>> Lucinda: Oh, come on, darling. You gonna pick up where you left off? What's the matter with you? You got some kind of a
syndrome or something? The guy hurt you more than Rose -- I mean, a lot more as far as I know.
>> Lily: I do not recall asking your permission.
>> Lucinda: I do not know you. The girl I raised wouldn't give that a glance, let alone provide the prison comforts that I
witnessed.
>> Lily: Well, that little girl that you raised has grown up. It's time you start to realize that.
>> Lucinda: Okay. That's just fine, Mrs. Snyder. But move it along, okay? Because as you just said, time is of the essence.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Simon: You know, I wish I could just help you with everything you're
facing -- reclaiming your identity, dealing with the great pretender.
>> Lily: Hey, come on, you're talking to a girl who's survived hurricanes, attempts on her life, an outfit that would make Adam
and Eve jealous. You don't think I can handle a little showgirl from Atlantic City?
>> Simon: Hey, I know you can handle anything. It's just -- I hated saying good-bye to you the first time. I just don't think I can
handle doing it again.
>> Lily: Me, too. It's really nice to be with somebody who really knows me and who understands what I've been through - we've
both been through for the past few months.
>> Simon: Listen to us -- missing the good old days on the island. We must be nuts.
>> Lily: No, no, we're perfectly sane. It's the rest of the world that's nuts.
Scene 4:
Location: Oakdale Police Department precinct station.
Scene: Jail.
SIMON FRASIER AND OFFICER SHANKS
>> Simon: Hey, buddy. Buddy, please. Just leave it there please.
[song playing]
Never never change, keep that breathless charm
Won't you please arrange it 'cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
