PAUL'S PUBLICITY UP-CLOSE AND PERSONAL CBS Soaps In Depth (SID) APRIL 24, 2001 ON FIRE Growing up in Australia, Paul Leyden (Simon) fulfilled every teenage boy's dream: he played guitar in a few rock bands. One group was called The Blues Band, and the other, well, we can't even print the name here. "It was a rip-off of all the soft metal bands of the 80s", Leyden allows. "We used to play guitars with cordless drills and light the stage on fire at the end of every gig. It was a lot of fun". While he admits he hasn't played much since then, the actor would very much like to explore his musical side again through his ATWT character. "There's definitely the opportunity down the line for Simon to play at the Java Underground", Leyden predicts. Sounds good, as long as he doesn't burn the place down!
