Scene 1:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Java/ Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, JACK SNYDER, CARLY SNYDER, COPS

[ Simon on phone ]
>> Simon: Carly, can you please, please call me as soon as you get this message, okay? Please. Listen, guys, uh, sorry to bother you. I'm running kind of late. Did you come from Hal Munson's funeral?
>> Cop: Yeah, it was over a little while ago.
>> Simon: Okay. Thank you. I'm sorry about what happened.
[ Snyder House ] >> Carly: Emma says not to worry. The kids are happy at the farm.
>> Jack: You okay?
>> Carly: I'm just glad that Parker has J.J. and Sage to distract him, you know?
>> Jack: The funeral was hard on him and you.
>> Carly: Are you hungry? Or would you like something to drink? I'd be happy to get you something.
>> Jack: Carly --
>> Carly: You know, I don't even know if I have anything. Maybe I should just go to the grocery store, and I'll --
>> Jack: Carly.
>> Carly: It's not fair, is it? It's just not fair.
[ Carly sobs ]

Scene 2:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER, JACK SNYDER

>> Jack: I'm gonna call the station. I'll tell them I can't come in.
>> Carly: No.
>> Jack: It's no big deal.
>> Carly: No, no. Jack, I was a cop's wife for a long time. I know that it's important that you be there today. And besides, you know me. One big meltdown, and I'm back in the saddle, all right?
>> Jack: Okay, all right. Just you -- you call me, anytime, anyplace. And forget about trying to tough this out. Losing Hal -- that was a big deal, for all of us.
>> Carly: I'm so glad my kids have you. And I will call.
>> Jack: Okay. I better -- I better go.
>> Carly: Okay.
[ Simon listening ]
>> Jack: Can I press my luck?
>> Carly: Don't you always?
>> Jack: Be careful. I don't want to butt into your life. I just want you to be careful.
>> Carly: I know.
>> Jack: And if Frasier's not involved with this loan shark, still, he's not a guy to be trusted.
>> Carly: Good thing you didn't butt in just then.
[ Jack laughs ]
>> Jack: I just don't want to make you mad.
>> Carly: I'm not. It's fine. And I will be careful. And I will call. And I'm very grateful that you brought me home.
>> Jack: Don't worry about Parker, okay? I'll look after him tonight.
>> Carly: Hey, Jack. You take care, too. Promise.
[ Jack leaves ]
>> Simon: Carly --
[ Carly screams ]
>> Simon: Look, look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I didn't mean to.
>> Carly: Well, then don't hide in the bushes and sneak up on me like that.
>> Simon: I don't have much time, and this is very important.
>> Carly: Is someone after you, Simon?
>> Simon: Look, I overheard what Jack just said about being careful. And he's right.
>> Carly: Oh, you're eavesdropping now?!
>> Simon: No, but I have the solution. I've still got that jet for a little longer. Why don't we pack up the kids and get out of Oakdale?

Scene 3:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

>> Simon: Carly? Did -- did you hear me?
>> Carly: Huh? No. No, I think I just -- I must have been hallucinating. 'Cause I could swear I just heard you say something like I should gather my children up and get on a private jet and fly away from Oakdale?
>> Simon: Uh-huh. Can we talk about this inside, please?
>> Carly: Someone is after you.
>> Simon: Not yet, but I just want to be safe.
>> Carly: Why? What is going on, Simon?
>> Simon: All right, you were right about everything. Spirro has doubled the interest, 'cause Jack dragged him into the station for questioning. There is no way -- no way I can sell enough units to cover that kind of payback. I'm circling the drain here.
>> Carly: Oh, I'm sorry.
>> Simon: But you know what? Just --
[ Simon whispering ] Get on a plane, kids, get out of town. Just for a little bit, 'til things cool down.
>> Carly: You know what, Simon? It was actually sort of fun playing in your pretend world for awhile. But when you have kids, you can't stay there for very long. Parker's father just died, and he feels alone and abandoned. And it's my job to make sure that he feels connected, that he's around the people who love him.
>> Simon: I thought maybe just getting away --
>> Carly: Well, Simon, that's what you do. You get away. So, you go. You get away. I'll pack you a lunch.
>> Simon: Not without you. Spirro saw you coming out of the police station, so he thinks that you're involved with somehow paying him back. He might take it out on you.
>> Carly: Well, then I'll call Jack, and I'll get protection.
>> Simon: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, you're right, no. No more running away. There is no way in hell I'm gonna let you take the heat for this. No, I got you into this, I'm gonna get you out of it.

Scene 4:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

[ Simon clears his throat ]
>> Simon: What are you staring at?
>> Carly: Well, when Simon Frasier say he's gonna stick around and shoulder responsibility, it gives one pause.
>> Simon: I don't even know why you would say that.
>> Carly: Well, you're famous for taking off when things get sticky. It's part of the adventure.
>> Simon: Well, it wouldn't be much of an adventure if anything happened to you.
>> Carly: Oh, come on. Sure it would. You charge a first-class ticket to Australia on someone else's credit card. You get on the plane, you relax. Lots of leg room, champagne, surrounded by rich suckers looking for investment opportunities. You'd forget about me before they served the entree.
>> Simon: Please. How can I forget about you?
>> Carly: Are you sure there's no way out of this fire? We'll fix up those apartments, we'll sell them really fast so we can pay off the loan.
>> Simon: Look, it was gonna be tight before. Now that the interest has been doubled, Carly, it's impossible. God, I hate reality.
>> Carly: Part of your charm is that you never let it affect you very much. Oh, Simon, on this sad, awful day, don't let me watch you give up. Be Simon. Expect the impossible. Think magically. I can't anymore.
>> Simon: I am so sorry about all of this.
>> Carly: It's okay. We had a few laughs anyway, didn't we? And who knows, maybe it's not completely over, you know? You are Simon Frasier. You'll come up with something. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go and call the farm and check on the kids, and I'll give you a minute to come up with a plan.
>> Simon: Right. Yeah, just like that, my luck's gonna change. Bingo. I love baseball so much.

Scene 5:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Carly Snyder House

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

>> Simon: Carly? Carly, I'm gonna go.
>> Carly: No, wait just a second!
>> Simon: No, no, you know what? You were right. I'm gonna go back to work, make sure the model's finished.
>> Carly: Wha -- wait. Now you're gonna go and do the thing that you said was impossible?
>> Simon: You know what? You knocked some sense into me. Now, if I'm gonna go down, I'm gonna go down fighting.
>> Carly: Wow, this is a mood swing.
>> Simon: What can I say? You're inspirational. I'm gonna call you later.
>> Carly: Wait a minute. I don't understand this. Can you explain this to me? Just a minute ago, you were depressed and miserable. I had to make a phone call, I come back, and now you're like a motivational speaker or something.
>> Simon: It's just sometimes, the answer is right in front of us. We just gotta open our eyes.
>> Carly: And why did you steal my paper? >> Simon, hello, V. Long time, no see. Oh, I can so make this work.
