Scene 1:
Location: Oakdale Police Department
Scene: Squad Room

SIMON FRASIER, KATIE FRASIER, JACK SNYDER

>> Jack: Have your fun now, guys, because if you don't turn up any new leads on this arson case, I guarantee you there won't be a laugh in the joint.
>> Katie: Hey.
>> Simon: Hey, where are you going to?
>> Jack: I'm sorry, guys, I really gotta run.
>> Katie: Actually, we need to talk to you. It's really important.
>> Jack: Katie, you're all better. You look great.
>> Katie: Thanks. Well, I'm getting there. Margo and I just had checkups, and we're on track.
>> Jack: Good. Yeah, like I said, I gotta run.
>> Simon: Wait, just give us ten minutes. It's about the fire at Emma Snyder's barn. Maybe we can turn up some of those leads you were just yelling about.
>> Jack: Ten minutes. [ Jack leads Katie and Simon into the interrogation room ]
[ Interrogation Room ]
>> Jack: No offense, you two, but it's always been Simon we've worked with in the past. Why am I talking to both of you now?
>> Katie: Simon and I are in business together now. Private investigation.
>> Jack: So your interest in the fire is official?
>> Simon: Uh-huh. Yeah, and pro bono. We promised Lucy that we'd try to prove that Aaron wasn't responsible.
>> Jack: Well, it's good to have all the cards on the table.
>> Simon: Which means we'll be looking at all the leads and not just the ones pointing towards Aaron. So, if it's all right with you, we'd like to get involved.
>> Jack: Yeah. Yeah, maybe we could use a little help on this case. Aaron's off the hook for now. But if I know Hal, he's not gonna let this go. Let's do it.

Scene 2:
Location: Oakdale Police Department
Scene: Interrogation Room

SIMON FRASIER, KATIE FRASIER, JACK SNYDER

>> Jack: Hal knows he's too personally involved to keep a clear head, so he put me on the case. But there's only so hands-off he's gonna be. I can't make a move without him breathing down my neck.
>>: Does the Oakdale P.D. have any other suspects beside Aaron?
>> Jack: No, that's the thing. They think this thing's a slam dunk.
>> Simon: And you don't?
>> Katie: Lucy said that you found some matches at the scene?
>> Jack: Yeah. And the lab report says they found accelerant on his clothes -- gasoline.
>> Simon: Gasoline? Well, doesn't he work with machinery, motorbikes, things like that? The gasoline could've been from that.
>> Katie: Okay. So, basically, what you're saying is everything we have so far is circumstantial?
>> Jack: Exactly. Which is why they can't make the charges stick.
>> Simon: Whoa, whoa, whoa. If the charges won't stick, then why isn't the case closed?
>> Jack: 'Cause Hal's not gonna back off Aaron if he's all we've got.
>> Katie: Ah, it's too bad that we can't just question Will.
>> Jack: Listen, guys, let me -- let me make copies of the case file, and I'll send it over to your place. One thing -- you guys gotta keep this on the down low. Hal can't know you're on this case.
>> Simon: Sure thing. No problem. Hey, thanks, Jack.
>> Jack: No, thank you.
>> Katie: Sorry we held you up.
>> Jack: No, not a problem.
>> Simon: Take it easy, buddy.
