LILY WALSH SNYDER AND A DELIVERY MAN

>> Delivery man: Mrs. Snyder?
>> Lily: Yes?
>> Delivery man: You expecting something from Bygone Days Vintage Clothing?
>> Lily: Yes, I am. I thought you'd forgotten about me. Come on in. Those are our costumes for the big Halloween bash tonight.
>> Delivery man: Nearly sold out all our flapper and gangster stuff overnight.
>> Lily: I'm sure. Thank you.
>> Delivery man: Thank you. Happy Halloween.
>> Lily: You, too.

LILY WALSH SNYDER DAYDREAMS OF HER DRESS-UP AS BELOVED.

[Lily dreaming.]
>> Lily: Simon? Stop it. Just forget about him. Forget about him.

Scene 2:
Location: Lakeview Towers Hotel

SIMON FRASIER ALONE.

[Knock on door.]
>> Simon: Yeah, who is it?
>> Lakeview manager: Kevin Holland, the manager. There's a problem with your bill.
SIMON FRASIER AND KEVIN HOLLAND
>> Simon: I left a check for the full amount at the front desk. Didn't you get it?
>> Lakeview manager: Yes, that's the problem.
>> Simon: Well, that check is good.
>> Lakeview manager: Oh, I'm sure it is. It's just that Mrs. Snyder, she's one of the owners --
>> Simon: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know who Lily Snyder is.
>> Lakeview manager: Well, Mrs. Snyder left explicit instructions to put all of your charges onto her account. And now you've gone ahead and --
>> Simon: And I've paid the bill. Yeah, so you've got your money. So if you'll just excuse me.
>> Lakeview manager: But Mrs. Snyder --
>> Simon: Look, forget -- forget Mrs. Snyder.

SIMON FRASIER ALONE.

>> Simon: Forget Mrs. Snyder -- as if I ever could.

Scene 3:
Location: Lakeview Towers Hotel.
Scene: Craig Montgomery's penthouse.

MISS KATIE PERETTI ALONE.
>> Margo (on answering machine): Hey, Craig, it's Margo RSVP-ing to your Halloween party. Tom and I will be happy to attend so you can add our names to the list. See you tonight.
>> Katie: "Add our names to the list, Craig." Right, like he would ever be caught dead doing his own grunt work.
>> Lily (on answering machine): Hi, Craig. It's Lily. Good news. I can make it to your big bash tonight. And Holden will be coming with me. Can't wait to see you.
>> Katie: Can't wait to see you either, Lil. I wonder if Simon knows. Only one way to find out.

Scene 4:
Location: Lakeview Towers Hotel
Scene: Simon Frasier's Suite.

SIMON FRASIER ALONE.

[Knock on door.]
>> Simon: Look, Mr. Holland, I told you this is not up for any kind of discussion.

SIMON FRASIER AND MISS KATIE PERETTI

>> Simon: Oh, no.
>> Katie: Oh, is that how they treat guests in Australia?
>> Simon: You see, we're not in Australia. And you're not one of my guests. Now if you'll excuse me.
>> Katie: Moving out? Moving out.
>> Simon: Whatever gave you that idea?
>> Katie: Well, I was wondering if you were moving out of town or just out of the Lakeview.
>> Simon: Yeah, well not that it's any of your business. But since you're such a nosey chick, you're soon to find out sooner or later. So, yeah, I've rented my own place. So just say whatever it is you came to say and go so I can check out before I get charged for an extra day.
>> Katie: Oh, you are gonna feel so bad that you were just mean to me when you find out why I'm here. My brother Craig is having a huge Halloween party tonight. They do have Halloween in Australia, don't they?
>> Simon: Yeah, yeah, we do. And as part of the festivities, we sacrifice young, nubile women. You don't happen to know any volunteers, do you?
>> Katie: I know you're bitter because Lily went back to Holden. So I'll ignore the sarcasm and invite you anyway. Oh, it's a costume party. So you might wanna dress appropriately. And by the way, Lily's gonna be there with Holden. I'm not actually supposed to reveal any of the guests being a masquerade and all. But I thought considering your colorful past with the lady --
>> Simon: Yeah, you see, my past with Lily consisted of a friendship, which seems to have come to a screeching halt. So, at this point, whatever Lily does is of no interest to me.
>> Katie: That's right. That's right. You're a free agent. And so am I. You know, come to think of it, it might be kind of fun if we went to this party together, you know, just for laughs.
>> Simon: Yeah, you see, I couldn't think of a less amusing way to spend the evening. Now if you'll just excuse me.
>> Katie: Okay, are you sure you don't want some time to think it over?
>> Simon: Yeah, I've thought it over. See you later.
>> Katie: Suit yourself. But I'm just gonna leave this here just in case you change your mind, okay?

SIMON FRASIER ALONE.

[Knock on door.]
>> Simon: Look, whoever it is, whatever you want, just go away.
[Knock on door.]
>> Simon: Look, I said leave me alone.
[Simon Frasier opens the door to see "Lily" (Rose D'Angelo) standing there.]

Scene 5:
Location: Lakeview Towers Hotel
Scene: Simon Frasier's Suite

SIMON FRASIER AND ROSE D'ANGELO

>> "Lily": Simon, we really need to talk.
>> Simon: Look, I've made up my mind, Lily. And there's nothing you can do to change it. So please just tell the management to back off.
>> "Lily": Management?
>> Simon: Yeah, that Mr. Holland keeps insisting the bill is paid for. So I told him to accept my check as full payment. That's all there is to it.
>> "Lily": That's fine, if that's what you want.
>> Simon: Yeah, it is. It is. My job may not be that glamorous, but it pays the bills, and that's how I like it. So if you came up here to change my mind, you're wasting your time.
>> "Lily": No, I came to talk about something else -- something much more important.
>> Simon: Is there something wrong?
>> "Lily": Well, that depends on the way you look at it. And I know this is going to be very, very hard for you to hear, but I've decided to give Holden another chance. And I wanna make our marriage work.
>> Simon: Yeah, I know.
>> "Lily": You do?
>> Simon: Yeah, you already told me yourself. Just the other day right downstairs, you told me the exact same thing you're telling me now.
>> "Lily": Yes.
>> Simon: Yeah, you can't have forgotten.
>> "Lily": No. I told you that I wanted to be with Holden.
>> Simon: Yeah, so why are you telling me again?
>> "Lily": I had time to think. And I realized that if I really wanted to give Holden a chance, I can't do that if you're in the picture.
>> Simon: So what are you saying, Lily?
>> "Lily": I think it would be best for everyone if you left town. And the sooner the better -- like, today.

Scene 6:
Location: Lily Walsh Snyder's mansion.
Scene: Living room.

LUCINDA WALSH AND LILY WALSH SNYDER

>> Lily: I'm sorry that took so long. Would you like some tea? I have some fresh chamomile.
>> Lucinda: Forget tea. Darling, you had a phone call while you were out of the room. I naturally could overhear the message.
>> Lily: Who was it?
>> Lucinda: It was from Kevin, the manager at the Lakeview. Mr. Frasier tried to pay his bill. But you had already taken care of it.
>> Lily: It's not what you think. It was a perfectly innocent arrangement.
>> Lucinda: No, it's not. It's not innocent, not when you pay expenses. 'Cause the next step is there are consequences.
>> Lily: Don't make into something that it's not. I explained to Simon that I'm trying to make my marriage work. He took it like a complete gentleman.
>> Lucinda: Great.
>> Lily: He doesn't want my help. He doesn't need it.
>> Lucinda: Then why are you forcing it on him? Why?
>> Lily: He's in a strange town. He doesn't know anybody. He has no money. It's the least I can do for him after everything he's done for me.
>> Lucinda: Dear, I do understand about the island. I really do. What is this? Is that a return of a favor, or are you just keeping him around in case the rapprochement with Holden doesn't work out?
>> Lily: Oh, you're way off base.
>> Lucinda: Well, I think you're off base prolonging his stay here in Oakdale.
>> Lily: What is wrong with trying to help someone?
>> Lucinda: This isn't just someone. This man loves you.
>> Lily: How do you know how Simon feels about me? You went to see him, didn't you?

Scene 7:
Location: Lakeview Towers Hotel
Scene: Simon Frasier's suite.

SIMON FRASIER AND ROSE D'ANGELO

>> Simon: Ever since we got back from the island, I -- I've been dreading this moment.
>> "Lily": You had to know it would happen eventually.
>> Simon: Yeah, yeah, I thought it was possible. You know, I prayed that it wouldn't happen. I mean, Lily, after everything that we've shared --
>> "Lily": Our time on the island was beautiful. But it wasn't real. And we both knew that it couldn't last.
>> Simon: See, I didn't. I didn't. I honestly thought that you were gonna choose me over Holden.
>> "Lily": How could you think that? I love him. I love him. Holden -- he's kind and he's gentle and loving. And I love him so much I can barely see straight. Holden and I -- we're forever. That's it. So I think the best thing for you to do would be to leave town. You need to get a life for yourself without me. Good-bye, Simon. Don't make this any harder than it already is.
>> Simon: I'm gonna leave if that's what you really want. Before we say our last good-byes, there's one thing that I need. There's something that you can give me for me to remember you by.
>> "Lily": What?
>> Simon: I've wanted to do this the first time I laid eyes on you. Let me make love to you, Lily.

Scene 8:
Location: Lakeview Towers Hotel
Scene: Simon Frasier's Suite

SIMON FRASIER AND ROSE D'ANGELO

>> "Lily": Simon. I can't believe you're saying this.
>> Simon: Come on. Come on, you can't be that surprised, Lily. After all, this is what we have both wanted for so long.
>> "Lily": I didn't say that. Did I say that?
>> Simon: No. No, just because you didn't say the words doesn't mean you didn't make your desires crystal clear. Especially on the island. We both know what would have happened if Holden didn't show up.
>> "Lily": The island was wonderful. But Holden did show up, and [Simon kisses "Lily"] Wow. That was something.
>> Simon: Don't fight it, Lily. It's all up to you.
>> "Lily": Well, if you're leaving town anyway, then Holden would never, never, never know, would he? No.
>> Simon: Wait. I have to be sure that this is -- this is what you really want.
>> "Lily": Yeah. It's been too long. Yeah, of course that's what I want.
>> Simon: Good.
[Simon catches on the Rose's game and seductively takes off her shirt and pushes her out of the door in nothing but her bra and her pants on.]
>> "Lily": Yeah. Oh! Well, all right. What are you doing?
>> Simon: Throwing out the trash.
>> "Lily": Oh. Let me in.
>> Simon: Not on your life.
>> "Lily": Why are you doing this?
>> Simon: Because no one plays me for a fool and gets away with it -- Rose.

Scene 9:
Location: Lily Walsh Snyder Mansion
Scene: Living Room

LILY SNYDER AND LUCINDA WALSH

>> Lily: You offered him money, didn't you? How much? How much did you offer Simon to leave town?
>> Lucinda: Only $20,000.
>> Lily: Are you crazy?
>> Lucinda: He didn't take it.
>> Lily: He didn't take the money?
>> Lucinda: No. Darling, I don't know the depth of what happened between the two of you on the island. I can't speak to that. But I do know about here, and I have watched you love Holden, fight for him, build a life with him and a life that many women would envy. Just don't throw that all away for a fling.
>> Lily: I think you should go now, mother.
>> Lucinda: Lily --
>> Lily: I need some time to think.
>> Lucinda: You know what you have to do.
>> Lily: Good-bye, mother.
>> Lucinda: Don't go see him. I hope you won't do that. Don't. Don't do it. It would be a big mistake.
>> Lily: He didn't take the money.
