>> Lily: What do you know about Rose?
>> Simon: I've just been very busy on my trip to Atlantic City. Almost as busy as you.
>> Lily: Doing what? I don't follow.
>> Simon: Might as well come clean, Lily. I know all about the link between you and the mysterious Rose.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND ROSE D'ANGELO AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: You know about Rose?
>> Simon: Everything. So you might as well just fill in the details.
>> Lily: So you know about -- our connection?
>> Simon: Only what one can discern from the outside.
>> Lily: Then you found out?
>> Simon: Yeah. Yeah, so just tell me the rest of the story.
>> Lily: You know the most important fact.
>> Simon: But you're the one who has the relationship with her, so go on. Tell me the most important fact.
>> Lily: That I'm not stupid enough to fall for a transparent story like yours. Excuse me.
>> Simon: Lily, wait, wait, wait, wait.

Scene 3:
Scene: Outside of Lily Walsh Snyder's hotel room.

SIMON FRAISER, A WAITER, AND LILY WALSH SNYDER

[Knock on door.]

>> Lily: Just in time.
[Lily closes the door on Simon.]

Scene 5:
Location: Boardwalk Plaza Hotel
Scene: Outside of Lily Walsh Snyder's hotel room

LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRASIER, AND A WAITER.

>> Lily: I've ordered enough food for the Australian army. So why don't we call a truce and come on in and see what's come off the barbie?
>> Simon: So now you're inviting me to supper?
>> Lily: Come on. Don't tell me you haven't worked up an appetite. I ordered enough for two. And I won't take no for an answer.
>> Simon: You know, Lily, Lily, I can't. I have business to attend to.
>> Lily: What, you've been parked outside my door all this time.
>> Simon: Oh, you know, it's just a little too early for me to eat such a big meal. I'll see you later.
>> Lily: Where are you going? Simon!

Scene 6:
Scene: Hotel lobby.

LILLY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER AND HOTEL EMPLOYEE

[Hotel employee puts the placard, "The Ladies of Caliente" with Rose's face in the showgirl photo, on a stand outside the showroom. Lily turns it around to hide it.]
>> Lily: Simon, I found you.
>> Simon: Indeed. Wonder how you knew where to look.
>> Lily: I need to talk to you.
>> Simon: Lily, you had your chance upstairs, but instead you chose to slam the door in my face.
>> Lily: I'm tired of all the duplicity, all the running around.
>> Simon: Then stop. Stop covering, stop hiding, stop pushing me away and tell me what it is you know.
>> Lily: Okay, but not here.
>> Simon: Why not?
>> Lily: I think we should go somewhere private. Let's go back to the room.
>> Simon: You aren't very good at this game, lily. You don't plan your moves out far enough ahead. I mean, we'll go upstairs and then what? You'll stammer and you'll stutter and then we'll end up right back at square one. We might as well stay here.
>> Lily: I will tell you what you're looking for.
>> Simon: What I'm looking for, Lily, is right here, and I'm not leaving until I find it.

Scene 7:
Location: Boardwalk Plaza Hotel.
Scene: Doorway.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: I'm getting my own answers, Lily.
>> Lily: How?
>> Simon: Well, from your friend, Rose.
>> Lily: And how are you so sure that she has what you're looking for?
>> Simon: I'm not sure. But she must know something, otherwise you wouldn't be working so feverishly to keep me from seeing this show.
>> Lily: So, your mind is made up?
>> Simon: You know, I've always wanted to see an authentic American casino floor show. Why do I get the impression that this one is going to be so much more interesting than all the others?

Scene 8:
Location: Boardwalk Plaza Hotel.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: Lily, hi. You're just in time for the show.
>> Lily: I've seen plenty of these shows. They're highly overrated. Why don't we take a long walk on the boardwalk?
>> Simon: Whoa, wait, wait, wait. And miss something uniquely American? Never!
>> Lily: You must be very hungry. We have all that food upstairs.
>> Simon: You're treading old, tired ground here, Lily. Why don't you just sit down, relax and enjoy me seeing what you're trying so desperately to conceal.
>> Lily: I'm not covering anything, Simon.
>> Simon: You know, I bet you were one of those kids whose feet were always sticking out during a game of hide-and-seek.
>> Lily: Please, simon, can we leave?
>> Simon: Don't make a scene, Lily. I've only just begun to enjoy myself.

[Situation: The show begins.]
[Simon laughs.]

>> Simon: There's two of you.
