Scene 1:
Location: Railroad box car

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Simon: So, you're lily?
>> Lily: No.
>> Simon: Yes, you are. I heard you.
>> Lily: I'm delirious. I don't know what I'm saying.
>> Simon: Well, you called out "holden" loud and clear. Now, tell me, lily, why would rose call out a name of a guy that she's never met?
>> Lily: Lily told me.
>> Simon: Oh, yeah. That is so lame. Yeah -- oh, what, in case of fever and delirium, call out "holden"? Lily, you don't have the strength for lies, all right? So, tell me, where is the diamond? Who has it?
>> Lily: I don't know.
>> Simon: Lily -- lily, look, don't go checking out on me now, okay? No lily, no diamond. You're still burning up. I've got to bring your fever down now.

Scene 2:
Location: Railroad box car.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Simon: Okay, I've got everything I need.
>> Lily: No.
>> Simon: Sorry, lily, you don't get a vote. What this lacks in hygiene, it definitely makes up in medicinal values.
>> Lily: What is it?
>> Simon: It's an old herbal recipe I learned from an aboriginal tribal leader.
>> Lily: Oh, you're a liar.
>> Simon: Yeah, believe me, I was a regular boy scout.
>> Lily: I don't trust you.
>> Simon: Lily, you don't have to trust me. You just have to do what I say. Okay? I am trying to get you well.
>> Lily: I'm fine. I'm fine. I will be fine.
>> Simon: You will be in a coma if you don't lie still, okay?
>> Lily: Simon --
>> Simon: Shh. Don't talk, don't move, just conserve your energy. All right? I'll be right back.
>> Lily: Where are you going?
>> Simon: I need to build a fire for the tonic.
>> Lily: Tonic?! I don't want it!
>> Simon: Listen, lily, you're in the middle of nowhere. Look out the door. There's no corner drugstore, no jolly doctor walking down the tracks, okay? But, with any luck, this pile of weeds will bring your temperature down.
>> Lily: I just want you to leave me alone.
>> Simon: Listen to me, lily. Because right now, I am the only chance you've got.

Scene 3:
Location: Railroad box car.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Simon: Come on, lily, it won't work if you don't drink it.
>> Lily: That's awful.
>> Simon: It's not supposed to taste like nectar. Come on.
>> Lily: I can't, simon.
>> Simon: Lily, just a little bit more.
>> Lily: It's poison.
>> Simon: Look, if I was trying to kill you, lily, I would've done it a long time ago. Okay?
>> Lily: What is it?
>> Simon: It's a little bit of everything.
>> Lily: Arsenic?
>> Simon: Yes. Yeah, arsenic. Oh, you found out my secret recipe. Lily, just drink it, okay? I'm trying to save your life.
>> Lily: Enough.
>> Simon: No, no, no, that's not enough. Okay? Come on. Down the hatch like a good little girl. Lily, just drink the damn stuff, okay?
>> Lily: I can't finish it.
>> Simon: It's a lot worse cold. It's good. Relax, all right? It is good for your fever and your aches and your pains. Come on.
>> Lily: I can't finish it.
>> Simon: Just a little bit more, okay? One more sip. Just one more sip. There we go. All right, okay. I think I've got enough into you. Now, just lay back, okay? And let the tea go to work. All right? And don't fight it, all right? Rest. I'll be right here when you wake up.
>> Lily: I hate you.
>> Simon: Yeah, I know. I know. But there'll be plenty of time to hurl insults at me when you get back your strength back. Ah, yes. The fever is breaking.

Scene 4:
Location: Railroad box car.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Lily: Keep your hands off of me.
>> Simon: Well, you are feeling better.
>> Lily: Just stay away from me.
>> Simon: You're welcome, lily. Your gratitude is really touching.
>> Lily: Oh, I'm so dizzy.
>> Simon: It'll pass.
>> Lily: You know, this could be a whole new career for you. You could go around the country with your little black bag, trying to sell your snake oil to people.
>> Simon: It cured you, didn't it?
>> Lily: Well, it did not prevent me from getting well. Boiling a few leaves does not make you an md.
>> Simon: Here, try these. Don't worry, they're perfectly safe.
>> Lily: Says you.
>> Simon: Come on, my tonic brought down your fever, didn't it?
>> Lily: I do feel better.
>> Simon: Good. Then you really should eat something. Come on, these are very good. They're not too bitter. All right, I'll try one first, since your royal food tester is on holidays. Mm. Mm, mm. These are so good. Yum, yum.
>> Lily: Thank you.
>> Simon: It's all right. Okay -- so now that you're feeling a little more chipper, let's get back to the subject of my diamond.
>> Lily: No.
>> Simon: Where is it, lily?
>> Lily: Now it's my turn to ask questions.
>> Simon: Where is it, lily?
>> Lily: I want to know who was shooting at us?
>> Simon: And no more, "it's been hidden in the fuse box" stories.
>> Lily: Who's after you, simon?
>> Simon: Did you pass it on to someone else?
>> Lily: Who was taking shots at the three of us?
>> Simon: I don't know!
>> Lily: Who wants you dead? I want an answer, and I want it now!

Scene 5:
Location: Railroad box car.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Simon: So why the scam, lily?
>> Lily: Why not?
>> Simon: Well, you were bound to be found out. I mean, rose is just a little more low brow than you.
>> Lily: Why do you insult rose?
>> Simon: I'm just merely stating the obvious.
>> Lily: She's a good person.
>> Simon: Whatever! Why did you pretend to be rose?
>> Lily: To keep you off balance.
>> Simon: And off your scent?
>> Lily: Or rose's.
>> Simon: Ahh, you are so annoying.
>> Lily: I'm glad it worked.
>> Simon: I saved your life, just show me a little appreciation.
>> Lily: Hey, hey. You know what? I wouldn't even be in this situation if it hadn't been for you. Now tell me, who was shooting at us?
>> Simon: It doesn't matter.
>> Lily: Was it the same person who broke into cal's place?
>> Simon: Lily, you are in danger.
>> Lily: Because of you.
>> Simon: Whoever it is will kill you for that diamond. And as long as you know where it is, you are still a target.
>> Lily: So if I pass it onto you, then I'm in the clear? It's rose's diamond!
>> Simon: No, no, no, no. It is mine! It has always been mine!
>> Lily: No, it's rose's diamond. It was in her family, it was passed down to her. She's had it since she was a child, it's her good luck charm.
>> Simon: Oh, well, boo-hoo her. Luck has changed. I have traveled around the world for that diamond, and I will have it. >> Lily: Or die trying?
>> Simon: Look, lily, if you'd just let me deal with rose on my own in atlantic city, we wouldn't even be in this mess. You'd be back at home, safe and sound with your boring husband and your boring little life.
>> Lily: And where would rose be?
>> Simon: Front and center on the stage as always. I would have protected her.
>> Lily: Oh, yeah. You did a great job of that, didn't you?
>> Simon: Just tell me the truth, is it in the fuse box as you said or not?
>> Lily: Ask rose.
>> Simon: So rose has it. All right. Yeah, yeah? Where is she?
>> Lily: Give it up, simon.
>> Simon: Lily, I need answers.
>> Lily: I really don't care what you need. But I know what I need, I need to get home to my husband and my family. I owe them weeks of lost time.
>> Simon: Look, what are you doing?
>> Lily: I'm leaving here, I'm getting out of here. I'm getting out of this stinking boxcar and as far away from you as I can possibly can!

Scene 6:
Location: Railroad box car.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Simon: Come on, lily, how far do you think you'll get with those?
>> Lily: Far enough.
>> Simon: Look at you, you can barely stand.
>> Lily: I will be fine!
>> Simon: Lily, this car has been uncoupled. No one knows we are stuck here, wherever "here" is. You've been sick with a fever.
>> Lily: I would rather risk it out there by myself than spend one more minute in here with you.
>> Simon: Oh, and how will you find your way after sunset, dorothy? Will you click your heels together? Follow the yellow brick road? Oh, I know, perhaps you'll find some friendly scarecrow who will help you.
>> Lily: I've survived worse, believe me.
>> Simon: Look, lily, you need to rest.
>> Lily: Why, so I can help you find your stupid diamond?
>> Simon: No, because you could have a relapse.
>> Lily: Can you think of anything other than money? Is that what you want? Am I here to line your pockets with cold-hard cash?
>> Simon: Just tell me where it is!
>> Lily: It's out of your grasp. I watched it slip through your slimy little hands.
>> Simon: Rose has it, doesn't she? Doesn't she?!
>> Lily: It's with its rightful owner.
>> Simon: Oh, I can't believe you let that woman run off with it.
>> Lily: It belongs to rose. We pulled a switch on you, and it worked. I hope she sold that diamond. I hope she's filthy rich and living in the lap of luxury.

Scene 7:
Location: Railroad box car.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Simon: No, no, no. You are not going anywhere.
>> Lily: I am going home to see my husband and my family. Now, get out of my way.
>> Simon: Where are you meeting rose?
>> Lily: I have no idea where rose is.
>> Simon: Oh, come on, lily. Who's conning who here?
>> Lily: Try the tropics. She's probably working on her tan.
>> Simon: Yeah, she probably is. While you're wondering cold and lost and hungry through the wilderness until you drop dead from exhaustion.
>> Lily: It beats staying here.
>> Simon: Oh, don't be an idiot!
>> Lily: I was an idiot to trust you.
>> Simon: And what direction do you think you'll be heading?
>> Lily: I'll follow the railroad tracks.
>> Simon: Right. And how close is the nearest town? What 20 miles, 120?
>> Lily: You can't scare me, simon.
>> Simon: Okay. We'll try this on. Whoever shot at us, lily, is still out there. And even if you were perfectly healthy, there is no way that you could make a go of this alone.
>> Lily: I'm out of here, simon. I know what I want, I know where I want to be, and it has nothing to do with a jewel or some romantic stories that probably aren't even true. Now, I'm going home. Stay out of my way.
>> Simon: Fine, fine. Here, here, let me help you. Go on, go on.

Scene 8:
Scene: Outside of the railroad boxcar.

SIMON FRAISER TALKS TO LILY WALSH SNYDER AS SHE WALKS AWAY.

[Simon is standing in the door to the railroad box car, shouting at Lily as she walks away.]

>> Simon: If you're just so set on dying, go ahead. Don't let me stop you. Good luck, lily! 'Cause you're gonna need it.
