>> Jack: No. No.
>> Simon: Craig, help me with these straps.

>> Craig: What, in there?
[ Jack coughing ]
>> Simon: Yeah, Julia followed your instructions to the letter.
>> Craig: Oh, I just had it detailed, too.
>> Simon: Jack, you all right? What's the matter?
>> Jack: I'm freezing. I'm freezing.
>> Margo: Jack! Oh, Jack. Jack. How is he? How's he doing? Is he okay?
>> Simon: He's alive. He's alive.
>> Margo: You pulled him out of there?
>> Simon: About 30 seconds ago.
>> Margo: Oh, man. That - was a close one, wasn't it?
>> Jack: Where's Julia?
[ Jack coughing ]

SIMON FRASIER, MARGO HUGHES, JACK SNYDER, EMT #1, EMT #2
>> EMT #1: Look left. Right.
>> Margo: Well, how's he doing?
>> EMT #1: Vital signs are good.
>> Craig: Did you call somebody to get my car out of the river?
>> Margo: It's really not a top priority right now.
>> Craig: Well, can I use your cell phone? I'll call myself.
>> Margo: No, you can't. I gotta keep that line open.
>> Craig: Do you have a cell phone?
>> EMT #1: In the ambulance.
>> Craig: All right, let's go.
>> EMT #2: Is there much discomfort here?
>> Jack: Yeah, a lot.
>> Margo: Hey, how are you doing, huh?
>> Jack: I'm fine. I'm fine.
>> Margo: Yeah. You, Simon?
>> Simon: Oh, yeah. Never been better. Great.
>> Jack: How's -- how's Mitzi doing? Anybody been in touch with her?
>> Margo: She's okay. She's safe. Don't worry.
>> Jack: What about Carly? Anything new while I was out of commission?
>> Margo: No, we still haven't found her, but got a few new leads.
>> Jack: Tell me.
>> EMT #2: No, I'm sorry, Detective. It looks like you might have broken this leg again. And he's got a high fever.
>> Margo: Yeah, why don't we talk after you've been treated? Let's get you into the hospital. You, too, Simon.
>> Simon: I just need a hot bath and a massage. I'll be fine.
>> Margo: No, not taking chances with either one of you. Into the ambulance. No back talk.
>> Simon: It seems she means it, mate. Come on.
>> Margo: Come on. Get into the ambulance, Craig.
>> Craig: I'm talking to the insurance agent --
>> Margo: Get in the back!
>> Craig: All right, Ralph, I'm gonna have to call you back. All right. Thank you.
>> Margo: Wait a minute. Why isn't he on a stretcher?
>> EMT #2: 'Cause he refused it.
>> Jack: Is anyone looking for Julia?
>> Margo: Yes. I've got a bulletin out in three states. They'll call me directly if anyone I.D.'s her.
>> Jack: She's more dangerous than ever, Margo. Until she's found, none of us are safe. Come on.
Scene 4:
Location: Memorial Hospital
Scene: ER
SIMON FRASIER, JOHN, JACK SNYDER, MARGO HUGHES
>> John: This is for the staph infection in your leg. You take those, Jack, until they are gone, even if you start to feel
better.
>> Jack: Okay.
>> John: These are for pain. And no one is gonna have to remind you to take these.
>> Jack: Thanks. How bad's the new break?
>> John: It's a good one, Jack. You keep doing this, you'll get another case of gangrene.
>> Jack: If Simon hadn't saved me when he did, it wouldn't have mattered, right? It's a joke, John! You remember those?
Can I please go home now?
>> John: No, you may not. Look, I want you to spend the night here so I can make some observations, okay?
>> Jack: No, I'll take the meds. What more do you want?
>> John: What I want is to make sure that your lungs are clear, Jack! And that you get a good night's rest.
>> Jack: The pills will do just fine. Okay, I'll go straight home. I'll sleep until noon. Satisfied?
>> John: I'm not making myself clear to you, am I? I want --
>> Margo: Hi! Mind if I come in?
>> Jack: Not at all.
>> Margo: How's our patient doing?
>> Jack: I'm fine! Will you tell him?
>> John: You're not as fine as you think. I wanna keep him here tonight for observations. He wants to go home, sign
himself out.
>> Margo: Why don't you just stay and relax? There's nothing you can do, anyway.
>> Jack: Yeah, maybe. But there's plenty Julia can do, and I want to stop her.
>> Margo: Okay, John, he's just -- he's not gonna stay.
>> John: Well, then I'm not gonna stay, either. I'll call you in the morning to see how well you slept. Okay? Don't try to drive on
that.
>> Jack: Done.
>> John: And when you leave, you are gonna have to sign out. You do know how to write, don't you, Jack?
>> Jack: Thank you, Dr. John.
>> John: Just pick a sign, a star or whatever --
>> Jack: Thank you very much. Margo, I want to go over everything that happened to me. I want to write out a full report. That
way, we can
prosecute fully when we catch Julia.
>> Margo: Do we really have to do this right away?
>> Jack: Yes, we do, right away.
[ Margo sighs ]
>> Margo: I'll go get a pencil and paper.
>> Jack: Thank you.
>> Simon: Hey.
>> Jack: Hey!
>> Simon: How are you doing?
>> Jack: Not bad. How are you doin'? What's behind your back?
>> Simon: What?
>> Jack: What's behind you back?
>> Simon: [ pulls out the harness ] Oh! Oh, I thought you might get some use of this.
[ Jack laughs ]
>> Simon: And here, this is for you. [ throws him a sweatshirt ]
>> Jack: Oh. Hey, where'd you get this?
>> Simon: Oh, the gift shop downstairs.
>> Jack: How much do I owe you? Besides my life.
>> Simon: Oh, well, actually, 20 bucks, actually. It's not cheap.
>> Jack: Seriously. I wasn't getting out of that car. If not for you -- who knows? They might be naming one of those
rooms at the station after me.
>> Simon: Come on, you would've done the same thing for me. You know it.
>> Jack: Well, don't make that possible please. But if you do, you know I got your back.
>> Simon: Yeah, I know.
>> Jack: Thank you so much.
>> Simon: You take care of yourself, man.
>> Jack: All right. You, too, Simon.
>> Margo: Look, before we start this, there's something you should know. Hal came back while you were away.
>> Jack: Great!
>> Margo: No, I'm not so sure about that.
>> Jack: Why?
>> Margo: Because something's wrong with him, Jack. He's not acting like himself. He's not acting like any human being I've
ever met.
Scene 5:
Scene: Hospital Corridor
SIMON FRASIER, CRAIG MONTGOMERY, LUCY MONTGOMERY
>> Lucy: Daddy!
>> Craig: Sweetness! Sweetness!
>> Lucy: Are you okay?
>> Craig: We're fine. How did you get here?
>> Lucy: Oh, I was with grandmother. And we heard about an accident on her police scanner. And it said that --
>> Craig: Wait, wait, wait. Your grandmother has a police scanner? Nice hobby.
>> Lucy: The report said that Detective Snyder was in a car that went into the river? And that you and Uncle Simon were
there, too.
>> Craig: Yes, well, everything is okay. Jack got himself into a little situation. We got him out of it.
>> Simon: Yeah, yeah. Well, that's the short version, anyway.
>> Lucy: You can tell me the details later. I just wanted to make sure that you two were safe.
>> Craig: No, we're fine. See? Huh? Now, speaking of safe, how did you get here?
>> Lucy: I didn't drive, if that's what you mean. Fenwick brought me. And he's waiting outside.
>> Craig: Well, now, did Lucinda let you come alone? She keeps a guard outside your bedroom.
>> Lucy: Well, she was gonna come, but then Aunt Lily and Paul Ryan came to tell her that they heard from Rose.
>> Craig: They heard from Rose? Just Rose? Not Carly, Emily?
>> Simon: Where is she? Where's Rose?
>> Lucy: Belgium. The three of them took the Worldwide jet to go pick her up in the Brussels airport.
>> Craig: And Rose didn't say anything about Carly?
>> Lucy: I don't think so. Rose is the only one they're gonna pick up.
>> Craig: Simon, would you do me a favor and please take Lucy home? I've gotta get to the airport.
>> Simon: Let it go, Craig. Let Lucinda get her. You question her later on.
>> Craig: Would you rather I discuss the situation with Katie?
>> Simon: All right. But don't you think you should tell Jack before you leave?
>> Craig: The man's been traumatized, Simon! He needs rest.
