LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRASIER, AND STATION MANAGER
>> Lily: Hello? Is anybody here? Hello?
>> Station manager: Who's there? Hello.
>> Lily: Oh, good. A real person, thank goodness.
>> Station manager: What can I do for you?
>> Lily: Is there a train coming through soon?
>> Station manager: You're in luck, missy. Yes, the "colonial express" should be here in just a few hours.
>> Lily: A few hours, did you hear that?
>> Station manager: Give or take an hour.
>> Lily: That's all right. That's great.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: Don't try to talk me out of it.
>> Simon: I'm not going to. I just wanted to say I'm glad you can finally contact your family.
>> Lily: You are?
>> Simon: Yeah, of course I am. I'm not a complete monster. And holden must be worried sick about you.
>> Lily: And my kids -- oh, I haven't seen them in so long.
>> Simon: Well, hey, look, you're in luck. The "colonial express" has a transfer that goes straight through to
chicago.
>> Lily: Well, that's great, 'cause holden can meet me there. Okay, I'm gonna call. Do you have a -- my number

LILY WALSH SNYDER ON THE PAY PHONE.
>> Lily: Be there, please, somebody be there.
[Phone ringing.]
[Voice on machine.]
>> Lily: You've reached the Snyders. Please leave a message, and we'll get back to you soon.
>> Lily: Holden, it's me. I'm sorry that I haven't called for so long. I'm with Simon now.
[Answering machine glitches off.]
>> Lily: Hello? I'm in Canada. I'm in some place called Beaver Cove. I have no idea where it is. But, look, I'm
getting on a train in a few hours to Chicago, so check the schedule and please meet me there. I don't know if I
got disconnected or what, look, I'll call you, I'll call you at the station. I love you.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Lily: It's dead. I had a dial tone, and now it's suddenly dead.
Scene 5:
Location: Beaver Cove Train Station.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Lily: It's dead. It's dead!
>> Simon: Look, slamming it's not going to help, all right?
>> Lily: Why did it just go dead, huh?
>> Simon: Don't look at me, I'm just standing here checking the schedule.
>> Lily: Something hap -- happened. Excuse me, sir. Does that phone do that all the time, just go in and out
like that?
>> Station manager: No, it's pretty new. We just had it put in last year.
>> Lily: I need to make a phone call. Is there a store?
>> Station manager: Yep, yep, yep.
>> Lily: Oh, thank goodness.
>> Station manager: About 30 miles north.
>> Simon: Look, just relax. You left a message.
>> Lily: I know, but it was just part of a message, I think.
>> Simon: Holden knows that you're safe and that you're coming home.
>> Station manager: Not if you don't buy your tickets. I'm off duty in five, folks.
>> Simon: All right, all right. You just hang there. I'm going to put you on that train to Chicago, all right? Lily,
you'll be home before you know it. So, just sit --
>> Lily: All right, I'll call him at the next stop.
>> Simon: You sit down, relax, and I'll buy the tickets, all right?
>> Station manager: That's two to Chicago by way of -- what?
>> Simon: Atlantic City.
>> Station manager: Pardon?
>> Simon: Look, I need two one-way tickets to anywhere, as long as the transfer is to Atlantic City, all
right?
>> Station manager: Whatever you say.
Scene 6:
Location: Beaver Cove Train Station.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Simon: Wearing a groove in the floor is not going to make that train come any quicker.
>> Lily: I cannot wait to see my husband and my children.
>> Simon: I'm sure they've missed you terribly.
>> Lily: And a hot shower. That's going to be heaven. I'm going to burn these clothes.
>> Simon: Oh, good.
>> Lily: So, what are you going to do, Simon?
>> Simon: I'm not sure.
>> Lily: Give up on the diamond?
>> Simon: You know, I've traveled half way around the world to find that.
>> Lily: It's over.
>> Simon: Well, Rose could might still have it.
>> Lily: No, Rose would've sold it by now.
>> Simon: No, no, no. You don't know that.
>> Lily: I do. That's what you were going to do, right? That's all you wanted was the money. I hope rose is
having a wonderful life. She deserves it.
>> Simon: Yeah? What do I deserve?
>> Lily: Let's not go there, okay? Why don't you try a new life, Simon, without trying to con people? The
diamond belongs to Rose. Let her have it and be happy, and go on your merry way.
>> Simon: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Be happy that I have lost out on millions?
>> Lily: There's more to life than money.
>> Simon: Oh, yeah. This coming from a woman who has a bank account that could support a few third world
countries.
>> Lily: Make some new plans, Simon. Ones that don't include lies.
>> Simon: Yeah, well, thanks for your advice, you know? I'll take it under consideration.
>> Lily: Good. Tickets. Atlantic City?! You conned me! You lied to me again!
Scene 7:
Location: Beaver Cove Train Station.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
[Lily beats on Simon.]
>> Simon: Hey, hey, Lily, just relax. All right? Calm down! Calm down!
>> Lily: No, you calm down! You -- you bum! That's why you offered to buy my ticket! I thought you had one
ounce of human decency left in your body. You double-crossed me.
>> Simon: Look, I have to find my diamond.
>> Lily: Where is my ticket agent?
>> Simon: The guy is long gone.
>> Lily: I'll wait. I'll wait right here for him.
>> Simon: Why? And what are you gonna do for money?
>> Lily: Oh, I really want to kill you. Ahh, I want to kill you!
>> Simon: All right. Perhaps you do. I'm sure you do. But that is not gonna get you any closer to home.
>> Lily: I'm not going home, I'm going to Atlantic City!
>> Simon: Atlantic City is on the way! Kind of -- kind of on the way home. Look, just take me back stage, fuse
box, show me where the diamond is!
>> Lily: I lied about the fuse box!
>> Simon: Or maybe you're lying now.
>> Lily: There is no fuse box!
>> Simon: How am I suppose to know. You have changed your story so many times.
>> Lily: Just to keep you guessing, Simon.
>> Simon: And I'm "guessing" that Atlantic City is the place to be.
>> Lily: No! No! No!
>> Simon: Come on, please. Do this one thing for me, and I promise you will never, ever, ever see me
again.
>> Lily: I have no idea where your diamond is. I didn't stash it in Atlantic City. I didn't stash it in Oakdale. I didn't
stash it in Timbuktu. I hope Rose has it, I hope she sold it and she's on a five-star cruise somewhere living like
a queen.
>> Simon: And I hope she's not stuck in a hospital bed with gunshot wounds or worse.
>> Lily: No, she's fine. Rose is fine.
>> Simon: What, are you sure of that, huh? And you claim to be her friend, and you don't seem to even care
whether she's all right. Lily, you dragged her into this as much as I did. And what, are you just gonna walk
away? Not even wanting to know, never minding weather she's dead or alive! Look, I can't and I won't force
you, all right, but you're gonna be perfectly safe. Atlantic city's full of people, and you'll be in plain sight.
>> Lily: Simon, I miss my family.
>> Simon: But you've called them. You've called them. They know you're safe, they know you're on the way
home. It's just one small detour.
>> Lily: Forget it.
>> Simon: Just this, please. Just this one thing. Just help me get some answers to where that diamond is, and
then I promise you I will put you on the first plane, train or automobile back to Oakdale.
>> Lily: No, absolutely not!
>> Simon: Come on, I saved your life more than once, you owe me.
>> Lily: I owe you nothing! You are the one who put me in danger, you are the one who put Rose in danger. I
should tear you apart from head to toe.
Scene 8:
Location: Beaver Cove Train Station.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Simon: Look -- I am sorry that I had to drag the two of you into the middle of this.
>> Lily: You know, I really believe that rose deserves that diamond after everything we put her through, don't
you?
>> Simon: If you had just left me alone, I would have found that gem, and Rose would still have her job.
>> Lily: Oh, yeah. It's all my fault, right? Where's that train?
>> Simon: It's gonna take awhile, all right? I'm gonna go freshen up.
>> Lily: Don't bother for me.
[Lily whining.]
>> Lily: Oh, thank goodness. Hi -- oh, another human being. Look, do you have a cell phone or a car? I need
to make a phone call. Please, it's urgent.
Scene 9:
Location: Beaver Cove Train Station.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND CELIA
>> Celia: Well, I have my cell phone, but there's not much coverage around here.
>> Lily: Oh, can I try? I don't have any money, but --
>> Celia: Oh, please, that won't be necessary.
>> Lily: I'll send you a check.
>> Celia: There you go.
>> Lily: Thank you so much. Ah, I can't get a signal.
>> Celia: I know, try it outside.
>> Lily: Oh, that's a good idea.
>> Celia: I believe you're using my phone!
>> Lily: Ah!
>> Celia: Did you honestly think that I was going to let you call anyone? My, you are as stupid as you look.
Come on, let's go!
>> Lily: No, no!
>> Celia: If you want to see your family alive, I suggest you do exactly as I tell you.
SIMON FRAISER ALONE.
>> Simon: Lily. Lily! Lily! Lily! No!
