MONDAY, JUNE 19, 2000

Scene 1:
Location: Deserted island.
Scene: Shore.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

[Lily and Simon fall back onto the sand simultaneously and relatively slowly.]

[Simon is unconscious and wet.]

>> Lily: Come on. Come on, Simon, please! Simon? Simon? Simon?! Wake up! Simon!

Scene 2:
Scene: Shore.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: Simon, please wake up! Please -- he's not breathing! Oh, come on, you can't do this to me! You can't die on me! You can't leave me here alone! Your sister tried to murder us, you can't let her get away with this, Simon! Just prove to her how strong you are, please! Breathe! Breathe!

[Not the most realistic CPR going on.]

Scene 3:
Scene: Shore

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

[Simon is regaining consciousness.]

[Simon coughing, spits out a mouthful of water.]

[We see Simon is barefooted. Lily is still wearing a dark coat.]

>> Lily: Hey.
>> Simon: Lily, are you all right?
>> Lily: Yeah, I'm all right. I'm just exhausted from saving your life.
>> Simon: What happened? Where are we?
>> Lily: According to your sister, we're in the middle of the Atlantic somewhere off the Outer Banks. I mean, that's exactly what she said to us when she handed us this parachute and practically pushed us out of the plane. And we landed in the water, and you hit the water so hard that you blacked out, and I took your parachute off, and I got you to shore.
>> Simon: I thought you said you'd never jumped before?
>> Lily: I hadn't. I was worried, but you told me which cord to pull and everything was okay.
>> Simon: So I saved your life.
>> Lily: And then I saved yours. We're even.
>> Simon: Okay. Okay. And Celia's gone?
>> Lily: She hasn't flown by to riddle us with bullets, but I wouldn't put it past her.
>> Simon: Look, it's gonna be dark before too long. And we have, what, absolutely no idea where we are?
>> Lily: I just told you, we're off the Outer Banks somewhere.
>> Simon: Okay. All right. As far as we know, we're in the middle of nowhere. We really should find some place where we can get out of the weather tonight, okay?
>> Lily: Hey, hey, hey. Just take it easy.
>> Simon: Look, I am fine. All right? I'm gonna be fine. The first steps are always the hardest. All right?
[Simon falls down.]
>> Lily: Ah, Simon! Simon, be careful! Simon!

Scene 4:
Scene: Shore

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

[Simon Fraiser is sitting up on the ground.]

>> Lily: Be careful.
>> Simon: I'm all right.
>> Lily: Look, you're not gonna pass out on me again, are you?
>> Simon: No. No, I think my macho image has suffered enough for one day, thanks.
>> Lily: Okay, you stay here. I'm gonna go find some help.
>> Simon: No, no, no, no, no. Look, Lily, what we need, okay, is a survival strategy. All right? So, the first thing we need to do is find some fresh water, so we don't dehydrated and maybe then some food. Okay, there's plenty of dead wood around and grass. We can build a shelter. All right? But you'll have to do most of the work till I get my land legs back, all right? And remember, fresh water first, okay?
>> Lily: We landed on an uncharted island, and then that simply makes you king? Now, I'm sorry, I have some news for you. But I dragged you out of that water, because now I make the rules now.
>> Simon: Okay. All right, whatever. When was the last time you were stranded on an island?
>> Lily: When was the last time your sister pushed you out of a planes you do this often?!
>> Simon: No. No we don't. But I think I just have just a little more experience at roughing it then you do.
>> Lily: Is that what thieves do after they make a big score? They go on a little camping trip.
>> Simon: Come on, I'm not a common thief.
>> Lily: No, I'll give you that. You are extraordinary.
>> Simon: Look, I'm only trying to help, all right? Since it was my sister who dumped us here, it's the least I can do.
>> Lily: You and your sister -- you're twins, you're clones. You're selfish and heartless, and you'll use anybody you can to get what you want.
>> Simon: What's that meaning? What?
>> Lily: I'm not putting my life in your hands. Not again.
>> Simon: Look, you're upset.
>> Lily: I'm upset! Yes. If you want to play outward bound and show off your eagle scout skills, I don't care, because I have a family. I have a husband and two children who are missing me, and they're probably very worried about me. So you can settle in here all you want, but I'm gonna find some help on my own.

Scene 5:
Scene: Shore

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: Lily, I want to get off this island just as badly as you do, believe me. And I'm perfectly willing to accept all the blame for this predicament, but that's not gonna help, is it? Now, unless you know of something that I don't, we're not going anywhere tonight. Yeah? In the meantime, we have to survive. And if we are going to survive, you are going to be far better off working with me.
>> Lily: Do not use that infuriatingly patient tone with me. How do you know there's not somebody right around the bend with a phone? Maybe we washed up on Bermuda.
>> Simon: Oh, yeah, yeah. Come on, does this look like Bermuda to you? No. I think I know my sister a little better than that. There is no way she would want us getting in her way. I doubt that she's dropped us within 50 miles of any kind of civilization.
>> Lily: How do you know? How do you know that? Maybe she didn't want to kill us. She gave us parachutes. Maybe she just wanted to buy a little time.
>> Simon: What, what? So she pushes us out of a plane so we could go to the nearest phone and call the cops before she lands? No! Lily, it's gonna be dark soon. We really need to find some shelter.
>> Lily: No. There is no "we." I'm going to find help on my own.
>> Simon: Lily, just see the reason we're in all this. Do you really think Celia gave us those parachutes to be kind? No, no. She expected us to die out here of natural causes. There could be some poisonous snakes out there or quicksand. Okay? We're gonna be far better off if we just stick together.
>> Lily: You have completely destroyed my life. And I want you out of it now! And I'm going, I'm gonna go find a phone. I'm gonna go find phone, I'm gonna find something to get out of here!
>> Simon: I'm only trying to help you.
>> Lily: Just keep your hands off of me! There is no "we" anymore.

[Lily storms off.]

Scene 6:
Scene: Shore

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: Simon! You were right, okay? I've been completely around this pin-dot of an island and we are absolutely positively stranded. That's typical. Disappeared. I hope something very big and mean ate him. Simon. Simon!
