FRIDAY, JULY 14, 2000

Scene 1:
Place: Deserted island off of the North Carolina coast - Atlantic Ocean.

Location: The cave.

UNKNOWN MAN

[He comes in and picks up one of Lily's clothes and feels it. He hears them coming and hides.]

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER.

>> Lily: Finally, the weather's finally with us.
>> Simon: Not a cloud. Seas are calm, the raft is pretty much packed.
>> Lily: Okay. Do we have enough food?
>> Simon: Uh-huh.
>> Lily: You sure? We'll need plenty of berries.
>> Simon: You sure you're ready to kiss this place good-bye?
>> Lily: Oh, just try and stop me.
>> Simon: Not a chance. There's no stopping either one of us.

Scene 2:
Location: The cave.

LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRAISER, AND THE UNKNOWN MAN (hiding).

>> Simon: Hey, I thought you decided on everything you were gonna pack.
>> Lily: I did. I thought I put this somewhere else. Who knows? It's been a long morning.
>> Simon: It sure has. That's why we should take a breather.
>> Lily: A breather?
>> Simon: Yeah.
>> Lily: Are you kidding me?
>> Simon: What's a few more minutes? Lily, you've been up since before dawn.
>> Lily: I was supposed to sleep when I know that I'm gonna be heading out into the middle of the ocean on a raft that's put together with cord and vine? Come on.
>> Simon: Losing your nerve?
>> Lily: No. You've gotta be kidding me. But you know -- you know that we're resting a lot on faith -- using the sun to navigate us through the ocean. It just seems --
>> Simon: I know, I know. Unless the sun suddenly decides to rise in the west and set in the east, we're gonna be okay. We're gonna be fine.
>> Lily: Okay. Head towards the west till the weather holds, and long before we run out of food and water, there it is -- land.
>> Simon: Right. But we really should get some rest. Here. Eat a few of these, just for the road. And before you do, a few deep breaths.
>> Lily: Okay. All right. Everything will be fine. All will be well. You're gonna be all right. All will be well. Everything will be fine. Let's go.

Scene 3:
Location: The cave.

LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRAISER, AND UNKNOWN (hiding) MAN.

>> Lily: All will be well. There's nothing to fear. All will be well. There's -- oh! Thanks for that.
>> Simon: That's our trusty spear. We've got to be able to catch fish when we're out on the waves.
>> Lily: Oh, I didn't see a grill on that raft. How are we gonna cook those fish?
>> Simon: Hey, you ever heard of sushi?
>> Lily: Yeah, I'll just be a vegetarian on this trip.
>> Simon: There's a limit to how much fresh food we have room for on the raft. And the fruit's not gonna last that long in the sun.
>> Lily: So, how long, simon? How long, the best case scenario, will it take before --
>> Simon: Until we hit civilization? It's anybody's guess.
>> Lily: But it could be a couple of days, right? If the current is taking us in the right direction --
>> Simon: And the weather holds.
>> Lily: And the weather holds. I had this chilling memory this morning of that horrible storm that almost killed us. If we're out in the middle of the ocean and we have no protection -- no protection --
>> Simon: I know. The exact same thoughts keep trying to worm their way into my head, but -- but I keep telling them to get lost, lily. And you -- you have to do the same. Okay?
>> Lily: I know. I will, I am.
>> Simon: The only thoughts which should enter your mind are ones of people lining up to watch your welcome home parade.
>> Lily: I can hear the brass band now.
>> Simon: That's the spirit. I have -- I have absolutely no doubt that you are up to this.
>> Lily: So, I should tell the butterflies in my stomach, the one with the sharp wings, just go away.
>> Simon: Drown out them with some real deep breathing.
>> Lily: And I know just the place to do that. In the hot spring. I'll take a hot bath.
>> Simon: Right.
>> Lily: And I'll be ready for our big journey.
>> Simon: Okay, and while you're doing that, I'll check the raft one last time, make double-sure that she's seaworthy.

Scene 4:
Location: The cave.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND AN UNKNOWN (hiding) MAN.

>> Lily: Oh. Okay, you better enjoy this bath. It could be your last one for -- oh, remember what simon said. Just focus on where you're going, not how you're getting there. Just think about home. Home. Oh, just saying it makes me feel better. I'm coming home, holden. Tell luke and faith that their mommy will be there to kiss them good night before they even -
[Rustling sounds.]
>> Lily: Simon? So is the raft, is it still floating, or do we have to do the breaststroke? Simon? Look, I'm not in the mood for hide-and-seek. This is -- this is not the morning. I -- I don't want to have a complete mental -- simon? My god, whoever you are, please just leave me alone! Please, just back up! Please stay away from me, please! Who are you?!

Scene 5:
Location: The cave.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND UNKNOWN (hiding) MAN.

>> Lily: Who are you? I know that there's somebody there! I can hear you!

LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRAISER, AND UNKNOWN (hiding) MAN.

>> Simon: All righty then, are you ready to set sail?
>> Lily: Simon! Hurry!
>> Simon: Lily, what's the matter! What's going on?!
>> Lily: Did you see him?
>> Simon: See who? Who?
>> Lily: There was a man standing right -- right where you are right now!
>> Simon: Lily, just calm down. What are you talking about?
>> Lily: I didn't see his face, but I could see the shape of his body! I could hear him breathing! And it just made me sick!
>> Simon: All right, okay. All right. Where'd he go? Where'd he go?
>> Lily: He left when he heard your voice. You didn't pass him on the way in?
>> Simon: I didn't see anyone. He must have --
>> Lily: No, wait, simon!
>> Simon: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Tell me -- tell me that you're okay. Are you all right?
>> Lily: What if he wanted to hurt me? Thank god you're here.
>> Simon: Hey, it's all right. It's okay.
>> Lily: Wait a minute. Wait a minute! Wait remember, simon? Remember you said that you thought an animal took my clothes?!
>> Simon: Wait, are you saying whoever this is has taken your clothes? What?
>> Lily: It must be. He must have been watching. Please tell me. Please tell me, this was not your idea of a sick joke!
>> Simon: No. You really think I would find it amusing to scare you half to death on today of all days? We have too much to worry about. Okay?
>> Lily: Then, why is he stalking me? What if it's not a he? What if it's a she? What if it's -- you don't think it could be celia. Please tell me --
>> Simon: Celia wouldn't waste time playing games like this. She sticks to the tried and true -- firearms and intimidation.
>> Lily: Who? Who could it be?
>> Simon: I don't know, but I suggest we get off this island now.

Location: The beach.

UNKNOWN MAN

[The man has a machete and he walks over and looks at the raft.]

Scene 6:
Location: The beach.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER

>> Lily: You don't think we've packed to much do you?
>> Simon: No -

[Lily Walsh Snyder and Simon Fraiser emerge from the brush to find the raft totally destroyed.]

>> Lily: Oh, no. No. You think the man from the cave did this while we -- he wants to keep us here.
>> Simon: Yeah, looks that way.
>> Lily: Why? Why would he do this to us?
>> Simon: I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sure I really want to find out.
