Scene 1:
Place: Deserted island off of the North Carolina coast - Atlantic Ocean.

Location: The beach.

>> Lily: Simon, stop!
>> Simon: Oh, I should wring your neck for this!
>> Lily: Oh, no, no. You need to save your energy, so you can find the diamond! Make sure you get every square inch of sand!
>> Simon: You better start running, lily, because when I find that diamond, I'm not going to be responsible for what I'm going to do to you!
>> Lily: You know, it could be worse. I could have tossed it into the sea.
>> Simon: No, you didn't.
>> Lily: You heard it hit the land, just like I did. Maybe it's over there somewhere.
>> Simon: Hey, hey, hey, hey. What are you doing?
>> Lily: Nothing.
>> Simon: You're hiding it?
>> Lily: I'm not -- what? In this outfit? Where would I be hiding it? See!
>> Simon: Lily, where is it?
>> Lily: I think it's over there, somewhere.
>> Simon: That's good. Come on, you really think that is going to stop me?
>> Lily: I don't know what you're talking about.
>> Simon: All right. Okay, let me spell it out for you. I'm going to give you to three counts. And either the diamond is coming out, or I'm going in.
>> Lily: It belongs to rose.
>> Simon: One --
>> Lily: I -- I have as much right to it as you do!
>> Simon: Two --
>> Lily: I'll give it back to you when we get to the mainland!
>> Simon: Three --
>> Lily: Ah, no! Take it, just take it!
>> Simon: A thing of beauty. And nice and warm, too.
>> Lily: You are despicable, you're dishonest. You're a degenerate.
>> Simon: Yeah, not to mention filthy rich.
>> Lily: How do you live with yourself?
>> Simon: Oh, sour grapes, lily. I made the right decision leaving you behind.
>> Lily: Wait -- you're still going to abandon me here?
>> Simon: Yes! Yes. I don't trust you. I think I'll be a lot safer going without you.
>> Lily: Why did you do this to me?! You practically kidnapped me! You got us marooned here on this island! Why didn't you just tell me that you had the diamond the entire time?!
>> Simon: You're still going to play that the innocent routine now --
>> Lily: Why didn't you just let me go?!
>> Simon: -- When I've got the goods in my hands?!
>> Lily: Why didn't you just -- let me go? How come you had to use me?
>> Simon: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You're the pro at that, sweetheart. You used me!
>> Lily: How?
>> Simon: I am so tired of this, lily. You want to get home so badly? I will take you on that raft on one condition -- that you tell me the truth.
>> Lily: All right.
>> Simon: Good. Go on!
>> Lily: I -
>> Simon: Oh, admit it. You had the diamond hidden in your jacket the entire time.
>> Lily: What?!
>> Simon: Yes! And hiding it in the lining, that was very clever move.
>> Lily: I don't know what you're talking about. There's a hole. In the pocket.
>> Simon: There's a hole. Surprise, surprise.
>> Lily: Big enough to have a diamond slip right through it.
>> Simon: Imagine that!
>> Lily: I didn't put it there, simon!
>> Simon: Well, I sure as hell didn't!
>> Lily: Well, then, who did it?
>> Simon: Ah. Rose.

Scene 2:
Location: The beach.

>> Simon: Wait, wait, wait. The last time that I saw the diamond, lily, you had it onstage.
>> Lily: No, rose had it. Rose. She'd just gotten it from her jeweler. She put it in her pocket right before celia started shooting at us.
>> Simon: So rose then must have transferred it into your jacket during all the confusion. Why would she have done that?
>> Lily: She was scared.
>> Simon: Well, I guess it doesn't matters now. Lily, if I knew the diamond was here the whole time, there was no I would have kept you involved. And I am really sorry about my recent behavior. I just thought you were lying to me.
>> Lily: I wasn't lying. I didn't know anything about that -- that diamond being in my pocket. If I had known that, I would have given it to celia gladly, believe me.
>> Simon: Yeah, for all the good that would have done us. She probably still would have dumped us here.
>> Lily: Simon -- I've said some awful, horrible things.
>> Simon: No, no, no. Please forget about that. They're probably nothing compared to what I was gonna call you.
>> Lily: What's so funny? Wait, don't tell me -- don't tell me that that's the fake one, please.
>> Simon: No, no, this is real. It's real enough, all right. It just seems ironic. After all the years my family has spent, and now you seeking this priceless treasure -- right here and now on this island, this is just another oversized, useless grain of sand.

Scene 3:
Location: The beach.

>> Simon: The wind's picking up.
>> Lily: I guess it's too late for you to leave now.
>> Simon: Yes. Maybe we should wait until tomorrow before trying to head out for the mainland.
>> Lily: You're taking me with you?
>> Simon: Yes. I think it's a lot more preferable then having you swimming behind me, calling me all sorts of obscenities.
>> Lily: No, no, no, no. I was gonna conk you on the head, steal your raft.
>> Simon: Please, do not hit me on the head again. Either way, it's best if we hang together, right? Well, this raft is a little small, maybe we should spend the last remaining bits of daylight reorganizing it for the two of us.
>> Lily: Okay, sounds like a plan. What can I do? Maybe I can help reorganize the supplies?
>> Simon: Sounds great.
>> Lily: Okay. So what are we gonna do with the diamond when we get back to civilization?
>> Simon: I need it, lily.
>> Lily: I see.
>> Simon: Not just for the money, okay? It's for my family.
>> Lily: Really?
>> Simon: All right. The truth, the absolute truth now, I promise. Okay, I grew up on an absolutely exquisite 1,000 acre cattle station in outback Australia.
>> Lily: A station, is that like a ranch?
>> Simon: No, no, it's more like a very big farm. And now it's mine, I inherited it.
>> Lily: Well, then why --
>> Simon: Why am I circumnavigating the globe in pursuit of some rock? Trust me, lily, I would so much prefer to be working on the land.
>> Lily: Then why aren't you?
>> Simon: That 1,000 acres is all that's left of the Frasier holdings after nearly 200 years. I need the cash from the diamond to get it out of the red or else I'm gonna lose it.
>> Lily: I'm sorry, I just don't understand.
>> Simon: Come on, can't you?
>> Lily: No, I mean, we're here stranded on this island for what? For a farm or a diamond?
>> Simon: No, no, no. For my family, for my heritage. Look, my family was amongst the first european settlers on the continent. And since 1788, every single member of my family has been buried on that land. Now, if it was mine, you know, maybe I could let it go. But I can't possibly bear to lose what was theirs.
>> Lily: What about celia?
>> Simon: Celia's never cared about the land. All she cares about is the diamond.
>> Lily: Simon, that diamond belongs to rose. Your great-grandfather's letters prove that.
>> Simon: Please, lily, listen -- there will be enough money from the sale of the diamond for rose to live in a life of relative leisure and for me to get back my home.
>> Lily: That sounds perfect. What? What's wrong?
>> Simon: Celia. She's probably after rose right now, and if she finds rose, she's more than likely already out of the picture -- permanently.

Scene 4:
Location: The beach.

>> Lily: There's no place like home.
>> Simon: Hey, watch that bit over there, it's very -- this bit here. It's very important.
>> Lily: Ah --
[Simon laughing.]
>> Simon: I'm sorry. Sorry.
>> Lily: It's okay. Sometimes these things just happen.
>> Simon: Ohh --
[Lily screams.]
>> Simon: Oh, I'm sorry.
[Lily screams.]
>> Lily: Uncle, uncle!
[Simon laughs.]
>> Lily: Hey, wait, wait, wait. Let's get a bit of maturity here, all right? Just watch the gear. All right?
[Lily screams.]
>> Lily: Ohh, that's not fair.
[ Simon laughs ]
>> Simon: Come on, bring it on.
>> Lily: Oh, this is -- that's my -- simon -- uncle, uncle. [ Both laugh ] I think I -- I think I win.
>> Simon: All right. Fine. Since I started it, that's fine. Oh, you are a real mess.
>> Lily: You, too.
[Lily laughs.]
>> Lily: We better -- I'm gonna take a dip in the ocean before the storm starts.

Scene 5:
Location: The beach.

>> Lily: Whoo -- it's a good thing we got everything packed up before the storm hit. Do you think the raft's gonna be okay?
>> Simon: Well, it's gonna be a good test. I mean, if it survives the storm, maybe it'll stand a good chance in the ocean.
>> Lily: Oh, simon, you have some of that stuff still on your back.
>> Simon: Thank you. Here, turn around, let me look at you. Well, you're all -- you're all good.
>> Lily: You have some in your hair.
>> Simon: I hope the weather clears, it's gonna be a long trip.
>> Lily: Simon? Simon?
>> Simon: You want the truth, lily? It's gonna be smooth sailing all the way. Not a cloud in the sky. And we'll be onshore before lunch.
>> Lily: I'll hold onto that.
>> Simon: This is likely to be our last night marooned here together.
>> Lily: It's gonna be a relief to get off this island. Because if we're stranded any longer, who knows what could happen?

[ Waves crashing ]
