Scene 3:
Location: The beach.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER.
>> Lily: I would have come for a test run with you.
>> Simon: I didn't want to wake you. How was your siesta?
>> Lily: I was exhausted. It's too bad the rain didn't hold out, you know, we could be half way home by now.
>> Simon: Yeah, well, you obviously needed the sleep.
>> Lily: Do you sure we have to wait until tomorrow to leave?
>> Simon: Yeah, yeah, yeah we do. So, now, why don't you just head back to the cave? I'll catch us something to eat. And I'll
be up in a bit.
>> Lily: No, I'm awake, now. I want to do something to help. I think that we could use some more water. There's barely enough
for one person.
>> Simon: Yeah, right. Yes, yes. Good point. So why don't you take this one, head up to the lagoon and fill it up.
>> Lily: Or we could go make more gourde things --
>> Simon: I will work on them while you're gone. Okay.
>> Lily: No, no, no, no. You go to the lagoon --
>> Simon: Will you just go! Please?
>> Lily: What's the matter?
>> Simon: Nothing. Nothing. I just want to get everything sorted. We don't even know if this thing's going to float yet.
>> Lily: Let's test it out.
>> Simon: I will take care of it when you're gone filling up the water, just go ahead, please.
>> Lily: Why just you?
>> Simon: Because if this thing sinks, there's no point of both of us getting wet.
>> Lily: Who cares? Come on, where's your sense of adventure? Let's test it out. Why is all the food on here? If we're just
taking it for a test run?
>> Simon: I don't know. I just got a little ahead of myself. That's all. It'll be fine.
>> Lily: How far were you going?
>> Simon: Okay, look, it's a clear sky. I kind of figured that if all was going well, I'd just head on to the mainland.
>> Lily: Without me?
>> Simon: Look, it's going to be hard going, lily, we don't even know if this raft can handle the two of us.
>> Lily: Then we'll make it bigger.
>> Simon: And more unwieldy? Look, lily, you told me last night how nervous you were about this, this entire voyage. I just
thought that it would be better if I risked the seas myself and send back some help as soon as I can.
>> Lily: Why didn't you say something to me last night? Or this morning? Or why didn't you wake me up?! You weren't going to
say anything, were you? You were just going to take off and leave me here?!
>> Simon: You would have -- you would have figured it out. Okay? And it would have given you less time to fret about it than
you're doing right now!
>> Lily: Then why go behind my back?!
>> Simon: I just don't -- I can't stand good-byes. All right.
>> Lily: Oh, please! After all these weeks that we've been together, I don't believe that for a second! You were going to
abandon me!
Scene 4:
Location: The beach.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER.
>> Lily: How could you even think about leaving me here after everything we've been through?! We've helped each other so
much. We've saved each others lives more than once. How can you just ditch me?
>> Simon: Oh, hardly! I was hardly going to ditch you. I've set you up completely. The cave has got everything you need. All
right. Shelter, fire, fresh water. You've even got your own hot tub! I've taught you how to fish, live off the vegetation.
>> Lily: You did all that so I -- I could be here by myself, so you can leave me here alone?
>> Simon: No. You have told me more than once that you could survive just fine without me!
>> Lily: But I don't want to.
>> Simon: Once again, it comes down to what you want. Not only am I stuck here, but I am saddled with the ultimate spoiled
brat.
>> Lily: I just what to know what I've done to you to make you so angry -
>> Simon: You have just created some much more work for me!
>> Lily: Why now? Why? Why didn't you ditch me before? What has happened since -- why?! We are partners in this --
>> Simon: Oh, no, no, no. We have been anything but partners! I mean, you call me a liar, but lily, you have more than
surpassed me. Look, I don't care what you do. But I am getting of this island alone.
Scene 5:
Place: Deserted island off of the North Carolina coast - Atlantic Ocean.
Location: The beach.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER.
>> Lily: Why are you so angry with me?
>> Simon: Because you lied to me, lily, over and over. Whining to me about how I uprooted your life. No, no, no, no. You did
that, not me. I mean, you could be -- you could be happily rusticating away in oakdale, but, no, no, you wanted adventure. I
didn't corrupt you. You practically chased me down. From the minute you opened your door to me, you have been begging for
me to change your life! Make it more exciting!
>> Lily: You certainly did that.
>> Simon: Yeah, but -- but it wasn't enough, was it? No, no, finding rose, your double, wasn't nearly enough. You had to walk
away with the prize.
>> Lily: I don't know what you're talking about. And I know I've said some awful things to you, but to leave me here all alone?
What if you didn't come back?
>> Simon: Yeah! And there we have it, ladies and gentlemen, the bottom line! "Not that I'm worried about you, simon, risking
your life and limb on the high seas, but what if you inconveniently die? Who'd come back and find me? I know! How about we
write a note? Yeah, let's write a note. 'If found dead, toss simon overboard, but no matter what, go back and rescue lily.'" But,
you know, I find myself without a pen! What, write it in blood across my chest? Draw a map?
>> Lily: That's enough.
>> Simon: You didn't care about me once. You never cared about me. This whole time, you only cared about yourself.
>> Lily: I saved your life!
>> Simon: Yeah, of course you did. Oh, yeah, of course you did, because you didn't want to be left here alone. Well, what you
most feared, lily, has come to pass.
>> Lily: No, I'm not gonna let you do this. Just tell me, please! Tell me what I did to make you so angry! I'm not gonna let you
leave me here alone!
>> Simon: What, you're afraid of being left here alone, lily? Yes? Well, get used to it!
>> Lily: We're not alone! You know that. Somebody took my clothes.
>> Simon: Yeah, some animal.
>> Lily: No, we don't know that. It's not safe for me to be here.
>> Simon: You know, you'd use any trick in the book, wouldn't you? I wouldn't be surprised if you got rid of your clothes
yourself. You're just as treacherous as they come.
>> Lily: I'm sorry.
>> Simon: Oh, you are?
>> Lily: I know I've said some awful things to you. I know that, but I'm so grateful to you for everything that you've done for me
-- keeping me safe -- and I've said it before, but maybe you weren't listening to me.
>> Simon: Now, it's too late for all that because --
>> Lily: No! No, no, no! I'm not gonna let you do this because if you're gonna leave me here today on this raft, I'm going with
you!
Scene 6:
Location: The beach.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRAISER.
>> Lily: I'm not gonna let you leave me here!
>> Simon: Just get out of my way! What, do I have to tie you up?
>> Lily: Well, you might as well. I'm gonna die here anyway, so the sooner the better!
>> Simon: Look, look, lily, I will send you back help as soon as I can.
>> Lily: No, you won't. You expect me to believe that after everything you just said to me?
>> Simon: Look, if I wanted you dead, I would take you out there, push you off the raft and drown you.
>> Lily: No, you wouldn't do that to me.
>> Simon: I've got to go, all right?
>> Lily: No, simon!
