Scene 1:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Police Department

CARLY SNYDER, JACK SNYDER

>> Jack: So the guy talks you into helping him --
>> Carly: Simon didn't talk me into anything.
>> Jack: Into stealing diamonds and leaves you holding the bag.
>> Carly: Stop trying to make it sound like he's abandoned me.
>> Jack: Where'd he get the idea, Carly? After seeing Vienna's picture in the paper?
>> Carly: You're not going to trick me into giving him up.
>> Jack: Like Simon tricked you into holding stolen goods?
>> Carly: That's not what he did.
>> Jack: When he gave you that diamond, Carly, he pretty much guaranteed that when this came down, it was gonna come down on you, not him.
>> Carly: That's not true.
>> Jack: Why? Because Simon loves you? Do you still believe that Simon loves you, Carly?
>> Carly: Yeah.
>> Jack: Then why are you here chained to a table and he's walking around free? Why are you looking at years in prison -- years, for watching --
>> Carly: You just don't want to believe that Simon and I could have anything close to what --
>> Jack: Close to what? What we have?
>> Carly: Had.
>> Jack: Even now, Carly. Even being divorced and when you swear you love another man -- even now, I would never let you twist in the wind like Simon has. I would have walked through that door and said or done anything I had to so you could go free. That's what we have. Tell me again what you and Simon have.
>> Carly: I know what you think, and it's not true. Simon did not walk out on me.
>> Jack: Then where is he?
>> Carly: Somewhere. Figuring out a way to help me.
>> Jack: Well, it's taking him a while, isn't it? Think maybe he forgot all about you?
>> Carly: Are you deliberately trying to hurt me?
>> Jack: No, Simon is hurting you, Carly! I'm trying to get you to make him stop! Give me something, anything that I can take to the D.A.
>> Carly: I can't. You're wrong, Jack. Simon did not desert me. And he will find a way to get me out of this. I know he will.


Scene 2:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder Home

SIMON FRASIER, VIENNA HYATT

>> Simon: Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Allow me. Kind of humble digs for you, isn't it, Vienna? Listen, sweetie, I was hoping you and I could talk.
>> Vienna: Certainly. I just have to make one little call first.
>> Simon: Yeah? Anyone I know?
>> Vienna: Mm-hm. The police.
>> Simon: Don't do that.
>> Vienna: You're a thief, a no-good common thief. I gave myself to you, heart, body and soul. Then you stole from me!
>> Simon: Well, not you personally.
>> Vienna: Of course it was personal! You swiped Prince Adolpho's jewels from around my neck when I was in bed with you.
>> Simon: What can I say? You fell asleep.
>> Vienna: You made a fool of me.
>> Simon: Listen, honey, look, I was the fool, all right? And I have a lot of nerve asking you for forgiveness, but I made a terrible mistake.


Scene 3:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder Home

SIMON FRASIER, VIENNA HYATT

>> Vienna: Unhand me, Simon Frasier!
>> Simon: Vienna, can you just listen to me, please.
>> Vienna: No. Stay where you are. I don't want your hands going places, doing things.
>> Simon: Are you looking for this?
>> Vienna: Give it back.
>> Simon: I don't blame you for wanting to turn me in. I mean, I've been a cad. I've been a heel.
>> Vienna: What is this mistake you want to confess?
>> Simon: Choosing Carly over you.
>> Vienna: Yeah, it's like choosing tuna over caviar. What were you thinking?
>> Simon: I don't know what I was thinking. See, you had taken up with the prince. I mean, the guy could give you diamonds. I couldn't give you anything like that at the time. And listen, sweetie, if I was thinking straight and rationally, I would never have used you.
>> Vienna: Where does Carly fit in?
>> Simon: Nowhere! She doesn't fit anywhere. If I really thought that I had a shot with you, a real chance, I would never have laid eyes on her in the first place.
>> Vienna: What did this bleached blonde do to you?
>> Simon: See, it's not so much what she's done, it's what she's planning to do. Vienna, my sources down at the police station say she's going to go in there and she's going to turn me in to save herself. She's going to blame the whole robbery, the whole thing, on little old me.
>> Vienna: I knew that woman was a backstabber.
>> Simon: But now you're not my problem anymore. So good-bye, Simon. We have nothing more to say to each other. Here. You want to call the police?
>> Vienna: Of course I will. But since I feel sorry for you, I'm going to give you a head start. There's the door. Run fast.
>> Simon: Don't you first want to hear my proposition?
>> Vienna: What kind of proposition?
>> Simon: The kind of proposition I think you're going to find a whole lot more alluring than turning me in to the police.


Scene 4:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Police Department

CARLY SNYDER, JACK SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Jack: Can't you see Simon's playing you? That's been his game all along, Carly.
>> Carly: Of course it has. Of course, it's been some big scam because it's completely beyond the realm of possibility that another man could actually love me!
>> Jack: I am trying to help you!
>> Carly: I am in trouble because I got myself here. Simon did not lure me or trick me or seduce me.
>> Jack: That doesn't explain why you're protecting him.
>> Carly: What can I say? You rubbed off on me. All those lectures about doing the right thing, well, they sank in. I'm owning up to what I did, Jack. Even the part you don't want to hear.
>> Jack: What part is that?
>> Carly: The part where I fell in love with someone else.
[ Cell phone rings ]
>> Jack: Snyder. Yeah, Sandy. What's up?
>> Carly: What is it? Are the kids okay?
>> Jack: Can you put her on the phone? No, that's -- Sandy, it's okay. I'll be right there.
>> Carly: What happened?
>> Jack: Sage had a bit of a meltdown.
>> Carly: Well, I wish you would've let me talk to her.
>> Jack: She wouldn't talk to me, Carly. Sandy said she wouldn't come to the phone. I've got to go. I'll get a guard for you.
>> Carly: Wait, can I at least stay here? So if Sage wants to talk to me, you can call me.
>> Jack: If you go to jail for protecting Simon, how's she supposed to talk to you then?
>> Carly: Don't do that. Don't try to make me feel guilty.
>> Jack: It's the truth! You're her mother, Carly! And you could be ripped from her life for years.
>> Carly: Katie, here to gloat.
>> Katie: No, of course not. I'm here to help.
>> Carly: You want to help me. How?
>> Katie: You shouldn't be here. We both know that.
>> Carly: And when did you decide that? Before or after you broke into my house and stole my jewelry and brought it to the cops to make a case against me?
>> Katie: If you hadn't hooked up with Simon --
>> Carly: Then you wouldn't have been out to get me.
>> Katie: He's the criminal, Carly. Not you. You think seeing you here like this makes me happy?
>> Carly: Well, it ought to. You did everything you could think of to put me here.
>> Katie: We used to be friends.
>> Carly: Used to be.
>> Katie: We went through a lot. Helped each other. So seeing you here losing everything, I feel awful.
>> Carly: If that's your version of an apology, Katie, stick it.
>> Katie: Oh, you think I'm here to apologize? I don't have anything to apologize for. If I had to do it all again, I'd do exactly the same thing.


Scene 5:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder Home

SIMON FRASIER, VIENNA HYATT, MIKE KASNOFF

>> Vienna: There's only one thing that would truly satisfy me, Simon. Seeing you behind bars for the rest of your life. That would be a dream come true.
>> Simon: What about diamonds? Huh? Don't you still kind of like diamonds?
>> Vienna: So?
>> Simon: And I know how much you want to get back at Carly. What if I was to say there was a way that you could have both?
>> Vienna: Keep talking.
>> Simon: Well, not all the diamonds that I took off the prince were fenced. See, I kept a few of the better stones for myself, you know, to set myself up. You know, to make me comfortable for a very long time. What if I was to say I would split that with you so we can both be comfortable for a very long time?
>> Vienna: Together?
>> Simon: If that's what you want.
>> Vienna: I wouldn't. I hate you. So where are these diamonds?
>> Simon: In a secret place.
>> Vienna: Does Carly know about this place?
>> Simon: She chose it.
>> Vienna: I see. So she's going to turn you in, get free and run off with them.
>> Simon: That's right. Exactly right. Unless I get to them first.
>> Vienna: What's stopping you?
>> Simon: I need help, Vienna. Your help.
>> Vienna: To do what? >> Simon: Well, you can get me into places, move a few things around. You see, you have the access, I have the skills. We always did make a very formidable team.
>> Vienna: Much better than you and Carly.
>> Simon: Oh, much better. Much better. And more daring, too.
>> Vienna: Oh, so, this decision I would have, would it be dangerous?
>> Simon: Dangerous? Absolutely.
>> Vienna: Well, how can I trust you?
>> Simon: You can't. All you can do is use me. Use me to get the diamonds. Use me to make Carly squirm.
>> Vienna: And when I'm done with you?
>> Simon: Toss me aside, if you'd like. Although I am very much hoping you'd like to keep me.
[ Door closing ]
>> Simon: Is that Emma?
>> Vienna: Mike? Is that you?
>> Mike: Yeah, I'll be right there.
>> Vienna: Or maybe I should let Mike tear you limb from limb and then send you off to jail? Now that would be much more fun than boring old diamonds.


Scene 6:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Police Department

CARLY SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Katie: I was right to go after Simon. He's a thief.
>> Carly: Well, that didn't bother you when you were married to him.
>> Katie: I've changed.
>> Carly: No you haven't, Katie. Come on. For you, ruining my life was about two things. One, getting back at Simon for choosing me over you.
>> Katie: He chose you because you were available.
>> Carly: He wanted me and you couldn't stand it.
>> Katie: Okay. Can't wait to hear reason number two.
>> Carly: And you had to prove yourself to Mike.
>> Katie: And that's exactly what I've done.
>> Carly: Did it ever occur to you that you wouldn't have had to prove anything to Mike if you hadn't cheated on him in the first place?
>> Carly: Well, if Simon hadn't shown up at my door that night --
>> Carly: Oh, is that all it takes for you? Someone knocks on your door and you go to town with whoever it is?
>> Katie: I'm here to help you, Carly.
>> Carly: Help yourself. All this effort, Katie, and what have you got to show for it? Nothing! Simon's still walking around free, and Mike still wants to divorce you.
>> Katie: No, actually he doesn't.
>> Carly: Excuse me?
>> Katie: Mike was going to file for divorce, but now that I've helped the police build a case against Simon, he's rethinking that.
>> Carly: Oh. Well, that's good for you.
>> Katie: You gave me some really good advice once, Carly. You told me that I should get Simon out of my system. Proving that he stole those diamonds, that's what did it. I'm over him. I'm done.
>> Carly: Great.
>> Katie: But you got caught in the fallout, and I am sorry for that. Have they offered you a deal?
>> Carly: Not officially, no.
>> Katie: But they would, right? To get Simon? It was his plan. He stole the diamonds and fenced them. You just helped him get away. If you weren't on probation, that wouldn't be worth more than a little slap on the wrist.
>> Carly: But I am on probation.
>> Katie: And facing a long prison sentence, taking the rap for a guy who left you holding the bag.
>> Carly: What exactly are you saying?
>> Katie: I think maybe you should take your own advice, Carly. Save yourself. Get Simon out of your system. Testify against him. He's earned it.


Scene 7:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder Home

VIENNA HYATT, MIKE KASNOFF

>> Mike: Hey.
>> Vienna: Hello.
>> Mike: Who were you talking to?
>> Vienna: No one.
>> Mike: I could have sworn I heard voices.
>> Vienna: I was talking to myself. I do that sometimes when I'm alone.
>> Mike: Why?
>> Vienna: Because it's good therapy. You know, if I'm angry at someone, I tell them off and, you know, it makes me feel better.
>> Mike: Who were you telling off today?
>> Vienna: That no-good ex-boyfriend of mine. I think about the way he mistreated me and it makes me furious. [ Banging on table ] You know, he told me I was the only woman he had ever loved. And then he stole from me, and humiliated me, and then deceived me!
[ Banging on table ]
>> Mike: You really get into this, huh?
>> Vienna: Do you blame me? You know as well as I do how contemptible Simon is.
>> Mike: Yes, I do. Your life isn't the only one he's messed up. There's mine, there's Katie, Carly, Carly's kids. If the guy had any backbone at all, he'd turn himself in.
>> Vienna: He would never do that. He's way too selfish! Someone else will have to do that for him.
>> Mike: We'd have to find him first.
>> Vienna: Oh, well, that's not a problem. He might be much closer than you think he is. I am very sensitive to smell, but I don't have time...


Scene 8:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Police Department

CARLY SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Katie: My dad died when I was little and I missed him every day. But I can't even imagine what it would have been like growing up without my mom.
>> Carly: Sage will not have to grow up without me. None of them will. I will figure a way out of this.
>> Katie: Yeah. If you tell the truth about Simon.
>> Carly: I told you, Katie, that's not going to happen.
>> Katie: How can you do this? How can you let Simon take them away from you?
>> Carly: Why are you here?
>> Katie: To help you see that you don't have to be the one that's here.
>> Carly: Help me see that in order to save myself I have to betray the man I love.
>> Katie: He's guilty, Carly.
>> Carly: He didn't kill anybody, Katie!
>> Katie: So, he should still pay for what he did!
>> Carly: Pay for what, exactly? Sleeping with you? Leaving you? Loving me?
>> Katie: He needs to be locked away.
>> Carly: Mm. Locked away so he can't tempt you anymore? He can't make you break your vows again?
>> Katie: He destroyed your life, too.
>> Carly: Oh, so I should take no ownership for what I've done. I should just blame Simon for everything.
>> Katie: It is his fault.
>> Carly: You loved him, didn't you? When you married Simon, you did love him.
>> Katie: Yes. Of course I loved him.
>> Carly: Well, I loved Jack. He was everything to me. And when he left me, I was devastated.
>> Katie: What are you getting at?
>> Carly: There were times that I cursed Jack. Yelled at him, screamed at him. Hated him. Never ever did I want to see him hurt. You want me to hurt Simon.
>> Katie: No. You are twisting my words.
>> Carly: He loves me. And if I turn on him, that saves me, but what does it do to him? Have you ever thought of that?
>> Katie: He's a criminal.
>> Carly: And you are a hypocrite. Begging for Mike's forgiveness when you don't have an ounce of your own to give. You can't even forgive a man that you promised to love for the rest of your life.
>> Katie: Well, that was a long time ago. Mike is the man that I love now.
>> Carly: So where is Mike? Why aren't you home, Katie, with Mike making babies instead of here giving me advice I didn't ask for and I don't want?
>> Katie: He's doing some work for Emma.
>> Carly: He's living with Emma? Why?
>> Katie: We need a little time still to --
>> Carly: Oh. So all is not perfect in your perfect life. Mike's holding out, huh? And you think if you put the final nail in Simon's coffin that everything will be hunky-dory in Katie land.
>> Katie: You think Simon will sacrifice himself for you, but you're wrong.
>> Carly: If there is a way out of this, Simon will find it.
>> Katie: And if there's no way out, he'll run. Just like he ran from me.


Scene 9:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder Home

SIMON FRASIER, VIENNA HYATT, MIKE KASNOFF

>> Vienna: I have something to tell you. Something really important.
>> Mike: Are you going to hit on me again? Because if you are --
>> Vienna: I wasn't even thinking about that!
>> Mike: Okay, my bad. What do you want to talk about, then?
>> Vienna: You. You just said that you were expecting me to throw myself at you.
>> Mike: Okay, well, in the past --
>> Vienna: Well the past is past! I heard that you told little Katie that you would hold off on your divorce. Now, if you are going to be with her, why would I want to waste my time on you?
>> Mike: Well, you shouldn't. That's what I've been trying to tell you.
>> Vienna: Don't try to reject me. I'm the one who is rejecting you! I know what kind of impact I have on men. And so I'm trying to keep myself busy here doing home things for Emma while she's away.
>> Mike: I don't follow.
>> Vienna: Well, if I was acting my normal self, you would want me. But I don't want you to want me, and you don't want to want me, so I don't want to do that. Do you understand?
>> Mike: Sort of.
>> Vienna: Okay, so go.
>> Mike: Where?
>> Vienna: Go and get dinner by yourself and think about your Katie and the decision you have to make. And so you don't have to be distracted by my temptations.
>> Mike: Right.
>> Vienna: You're still here.
>> Mike: Okay, you know, I'm going to go get something to eat at Al's. I'll see you later.
>> Vienna: Good. Good. Go. Did you enjoy that, Simon?
>> Simon: Well, I got to say, I loved the part where you didn't give me up.
>> Vienna: Well, I haven't heard the rest of your plan. If I don't like it, I'll call the police.


Scene 10:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Police Department

CARLY SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Katie: It's starting to sink in, isn't it? He isn't coming.
>> Carly: He will.
>> Katie: Why? Because he told you he loves you? Simon told me I was the love of his life and he still left me.
>> Carly: I was the love of Jack's life and he left me. It happens.
>> Katie: Well, there's one thing I've learned from Simon. Take care of yourself. It's what he always does.


Scene 11:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Emma Snyder Home

SIMON FRASIER, VIENNA HYATT

>> Simon: So after you've done your part and gotten away safely, I'll go in, take the diamonds, sell them and use the money to make my escape. Voila!
>> Vienna: Brilliant plan.
>> Simon: So you'll help me?
>> Vienna: Yes.
>> Simon: Vienna, you are the best!
>> Vienna: I'm going to help you with the first part and the rest of it, too.
>> Simon: Okay, what do you mean?
>> Vienna: I'll be there every step of the way. We'll be true partners. I will never leave your side again. Ever.
