LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: I am so sorry. I got an early start, you know? So early I must have dozed off.
>> Lily: I didn't expect you to be here before the crack of dawn.
>> Simon: Yeah, I know, I kind of ran into a problem.
>> Lily: What kind of problem?
>> Simon: Well, when I took my room, I expected to be out by yesterday. It seems someone's rented the room out from underneath me, so I thought that I'd --
>> Lily: You could just sleep here?
>> Simon: No! No, I thought I'd get a jump on things. You know, I was up and out anyway.
>> Lily: Simon! After the run-in you had with Holden? And now you're sleeping in my house?
>> Simon: Look, I just thought after our talk, you'd understand.
>> Lily: Well, you were wrong. I do not understand.

[Fade to a commercial break.]

Scene 3:
Location: Lily Walsh Snyder's mansion.
Scene: Unfinished family room.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: Look, I am so sorry, Lily. If I knew how upset you'd get --
>> Lily: I have every right to be upset. You heard Holden yesterday.
>> Simon: Yeah, I know, which is why I'm getting the references for him.
>> Lily: I made the judgment call, and I am fine with it.
>> Simon: All right, so I don't want to disappoint you. But yesterday you were so gung ho about things, I thought --
>> Lily: Well, Holden could see this as taking advantage of us.

LUKE ENTERS THE ROOM.

>> Simon: Hey, Lukie, how are you, mate?
>> Lily: Hey, I left your breakfast in the kitchen.
>> Luke: Can I see a trick first?
>> Lily: A trick?
>> Luke: Simon can do magic.
>> Lily: I know, I remember.
>> Luke: Come on, simon.
>> Simon: All right, just a quick one, I promise. Come up over here. All right, you stand there. Now tell me, does your mommy ever wear pretty, bright scarves?
>> Luke: Uh-huh.
>> Simon: Yeah? As pretty as -- this one?
>> Luke: See, mom?
>> Lily: Yes, that's right, the amazing, amazing simon. Could I talk to you out here?
>> Simon: Yeah, of course.
>> Lily: You go to the kitchen.

Scene: Hallway.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: Look, this is partly my fault because I gave you a key to the house.
>> Simon: And I took advantage of it without meaning to. I just so wanted to get the project rolling.
>> Lily: I'm sorry that you lost your room. But we have to set some --
[Crashing noises.]
>> Lily: Hey, luke, are you okay?
>> Simon: It's okay, it's okay.
>> Lily: You can't play with this stuff, you're gonna get hurt.
>> Simon: It's all right. There's no harm done. Come here, come here. Come here. Oh, matey, you okay? Hey? We'll find plenty for you to do, all right? We'll work together on this. You can be my assistant, okay? Hey, look, it's not your fault, it's mine, all right?

Scene 4:
Location: Lily Walsh Snyder's mansion.
Scene: Unfinished family room.

LILY WALSH SNYDER, LUKE, AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: You all right there? Up you go. There we go. See, it's not that serious, was it? Come here, luke. What were you doing? Were you reaching for my drafting pencils, were ya?
>> Luke: Uh-huh.
>> Simon: Yeah? See, that's how I got started -- with just a whole lot of paper and a head full of ideas. I'll tell you what -- have you got some building blocks?
>> Lily: Yes, Holden gave some to you, right?
>> Luke: We used to play with them together.
>> Simon: Yeah? Okay, well, this is your assignment for today. You go and dig those blocks out, all right? And I want you to build me your version of this family room. And if it's okay with your mom, I'll come and check it out later.
>> Luke: Can I?
>> Lily: Yes. As long as you promise not to come into this room without an adult. Got it?
>> Luke: Got it.
>> Lily: Okay.
>> Simon: Go to it, Luke.
>> Lily: Thank you.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: Lily, I am truly sorry.
>> Lily: No, I'm -- me, too. It's just that, if Holden had found you in here instead of me --
>> Simon: Look, I was just -- I was overeager. All right? I just hate the fact that you and your family have to live in this mess for much longer.
>> Lily: I appreciate that. I do. But, next time, could you just call? Or maybe put a schedule together?
>> Simon: I will, I will. Don't worry, I will. I promise.
>> Lily: Okay. Now about finding you a place to live --
>> Simon: Look, I'll just check out the real estate ads later. It's fine.
>> Lily: I have a morning paper. I'll get it for you.
>> Simon: It's got to be affordable, you know? My kicking around the States isn't a paying gig.
>> Lily: You know, simon, you don't have to stick around until this family room is completed.
>> Simon: If it wasn't for you, I would be still looking for my lost letters. I am so happy to be here, lily.
>> Lily: Okay, I have an idea. My grandfather's house isn't being right used now.
>> Simon: No, no, no, no. I cannot impose.
>> Lily: You're not going to be here that long.
>> Simon: Come on, it's uneasy enough with your husband as it is.
>> Lily: I will talk to my husband. At least come and take a look at it.
>> Simon: You really should give this some serious thought.
>> Lily: Come and look at it, and then we'll talk.
>> Simon: Right.
>> Lily: I'm sure Luke will be happy to have you around.
>> Simon: Thank you, Luke.

Scene 5:
Location: Cal Stricklyn's farmhouse.
Scene: Living room.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: Well, here it is. So, what do you think? Do you like it?
>> Simon: Yeah, who wouldn't?
>> Lily: I love it -- love it here.
>> Simon: So, tell me, your grandfather, he must be a wealthy man.
>> Lily: You wouldn't know it by talking to him, but, yes, he is.
>> Simon: A self-made man?
>> Lily: Absolutely.
>> Simon: I would love to hear all his incredible stories on time, if you want to tell me.
>> Lily: Well, I think it's only fair after you told me about your great-grandfather's story. I've been thinking, did your great-grandfather ever find out that he had been lied to about his beloved?
>> Simon: Yeah, much later. And then he wished he'd had more faith in her. You know, hadn't been so quick to believe what people told him.
>> Lily: Poor man.
>> Simon: No, lily, he made peace with what happened. And he got so much pleasure out of his family. He was into tradition and passing down those things that truly mattered. And I'm sure, like your grandfather, his home was his greatest treasure.
>> Lily: Cal does love to come to visit. And this land has been in the family for years.
>> Simon: Oh, it must have a rich history.
>> Lily: And a lot of dust.
>> Simon: Hey, no, no, no.
>> Lily: No, I'll clean up. It needs to be cleaned up.
>> Simon: I will do this later. I will.
>> Lily: Does that mean you're going to stay?
>> Simon: I can't think of a more perfect place I'd want to be. Thank you. And trust me, just as soon as I finish your family room, I'll be on my way.

Scene 6:
Location: Cal Stricklyn's farmhouse.

LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Simon: Now, I will only be up at the main house during regular business hours, I promise.
>> Lily: Thank you.
>> Simon: And in that way, if the workers need pushing on overtime, I'll be close by.
>> Lily: Okay. Well, if you need anything, just call.
>> Simon: I will. And I -- I won't forget this, lily.
>> Lily: I'm sure luke will be very happy to have you so close by.
>> Simon: Well, you know, that makes two of us.
>> Lily: See you later.

[Lily hands him the key.]

>> Simon: Thank you.

[Lily leaves.]
