LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER

>> Lily: Ah, where have you guys been? Oh, simon! Hi.
>> Simon: I know I should've rung first, but I was hoping I'd catch you at home. Tell me I'm not interrupting?
>> Lily: You're not interrupting. Come on in.
>> Simon: Thank you. Okay, I'll show you.

Scene 6:

Scene: Living room.

>> Lily: What is it?
>> Simon: Estimates for the construction of your new family room/play room.
>> Lily: Sit, sit! Or should you be saying that to me? How bad is it?
>> Simon: No, no, no. I think you'll be pleased.
>> Lily: Not bad at all.

Emma SNYDER, LUCIANO, AND FAITH WALK IN.

>> Emma: We're baaa-aack! Hello, hello, hello!
>> Luke: I want cocoa!
>> Lily: Oh, my little wrecking crew!
>> Emma: Somebody wants cocoa! Did you hear him?
>> Lily: Come on in. Chilly.
>> Emma: Hello, there.
>> Lily: Forgive me. Simon frasier, this is my mother-in-law, Emma snyder.
>> Simon: Pleasure to meet you. Let me help you with this.
>> Emma: Thank you. I could use that help.
>> Simon: And this gorgeous girl must be faith --
>> Lily: That's right.
>> Simon: Which means the handsome one's luke. Pleased to meet you.
>> Emma: Do I detect an australian accent?
>> Simon: Yeah, yeah, from sydney. I'm taking some time out, travel around the states -- admire the architecture.
>> Lily: Simon's an architect. He's helping me finish the family room so the kids'll have a place to run around.
>> Emma: Isn't that wonderful.
>> Simon: With walls full of shelves for all those books -- of course, luke here would have to approve of all the plans, wouldn't you?
>> Luke: I would?
>> Simon: Uh-huh. You see, it's going to be called a play room, big guy. And you're the one who has to play, aren't you? Yeah?
>> Luke: Uh-huh.
>> Simon: Okay. Well, why don't I take you on a tour of the new room, explain the whole layout.
>> Luke: Cool!
>> Simon: All right.

LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRASIER, FAITH, AND Emma SNYDER

>> Simon: Perhaps I've spoken too soon. I mean, you haven't even given me the go-ahead --
>> Emma: If he's as good as he says he is --
>> Simon: Well, you've seen my designs, and you've looked over the numbers -- I haven't left a client dissatisfied yet. What do you say?
>> Lily: I say we have a deal.
>> Simon: Great!

Scene 7:

Location: Lily Walsh Snyder's mansion.
Scene: Living room.

SIMON FRASIER WITH LUCIANO

>> Simon: Can I get you some more marshmallows?
>> Luke: Yes, please.
>> Simon: Yeah? I'll have some myself.

[Voices from foyer of Emma Snyder and Lily Walsh Snyder.]

>> Lily: Thank you so much again for watching the kids.
>> Emma: Well, it was a pleasure, a pleasure, a pleasure, as always.
>> Lily: You know what? Tomorrow, we're going to see that "hansel and gretel" puppet show, do you want to come? It's at 1:00.
>> Emma: That sounds like fun!
>> Lily: Okay, well, I'll call you.
>> Emma: All right, bye-bye.
>> Lily: Thanks again!

SIMON FRASIER AND LUCIANO

>> Simon: Here we are. Ready?

LILY WALSH SNYDER, SIMON FRASIER, AND LUCIANO

>> Lily: Okay, so -- what's the next step?
>> Simon: Enthusiasm, I like it. Well, I've taken the liberty to call the contractor, and he's managed to fit us into his schedule at 1:30 Tomorrow.
>> Lily: Oh.
>> Simon: Yeah, just to show him through the room, have a look at the space, get his commitment. This guy is always busy, but he's the absolute best. Is there anything wrong?
>> Lily: I have plans for tomorrow. Could we reschedule, maybe?
>> Simon: Well, unfortunately, it's not that simple. This guy's impossible to pin down because he's busy all the time. But yeah, if you're willing to wait a few weeks --
>> Lily: A few weeks!
>> Simon: It's entirely up to you.
>> Lily: Oh, I don't know -- oh, no, no, honey. All right, all right, all right. Get him here tomorrow.
>> Simon: Yeah? What about your plans?
>> Lily: I can get Emma to take them to the puppet show tomorrow.
>> Luke: No, mommy, you promised.
>> Lily: Luke, honey --
>> Luke: Please! You said you'd go.
>> Lily: Would you be able to keep the contractor busy for a little while if I'm late?
>> Simon: Yeah. Oh, sure, we'll have plenty to discuss. It's no problem.
>> Lily: I never usually do this, but -- the help is off tomorrow. And after reading your great-grandfather's letters and sharing them with you, I feel like I've known you for years.
>> Simon: Believe me, the feeling's absolutely mutual.

[Lily hands Simon a key to the house.]
