Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Lobby

BOB HUGHES, KIM HUGHES, KATIE KASNOFF

[ Katie spies the diamond ]
>> Katie: Where did you get that?
>> Kim: Well, and a happy new year to you, too.
>> Katie: It is now. This is very important, Bob. Where did that come from?
>> Bob: Well, believe it or not, it was in a waste container at the hospital. I put up a notice about it, I kept it kind of vague for obvious reasons. But so far, no takers.
>> Katie: Well, you've got one now.


Scene 2:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Dining Room

SIMON FRASIER, LILY SNYDER, HOLDEN SNYDER, FAITH SNYDER, WAITER

>> Simon: Buddy, how're you doing? Listen, you wouldn't happen to have a table for one, by any chance, would you?
>> Waiter: I'm sorry, sir. The dining room's closed for a private party.
>> Lily: Are you ready to trip the light fantastic?
>> Holden: Honey, you and I are going to put this party on the map, okay? You and I. Let me go check and make sure they have the right music, I'll be right back.
>> Faith: Are you guys really going to go through with this?
>> Lily: Why? Are you too embarrassed to watch your parents dance in from of all these people?
>> Faith: No. It's just, if you think you think you have to put on a big performance just to show me that you two are okay, you don't.
>> Lily: I know that. We want to do it, that's all. And what better way to spend New Year's than in the arms of someone you love?
>> Lily: Simon Frasier, how are you?
>> Simon: Happy New Year, Lily.
>> Lily: Thank you. You don't look so happy. I know it's difficult to see Carly with Jack, but Bob and Kim have gone through a lot of trouble to put this party together. So, I hope you don't --
>> Simon: Make a scene? Make a scene, me? I wouldn't dream of it.


Scene 3:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Dining Room

SIMON FRASIER, LILY SNYDER

>> Simon: What makes you think I'm going to make a scene?
>> Lily: I know you.
>> Simon: All right, okay, okay, you have my solemn vow that I will not do anything that Carly doesn't want me to do.
>> Lily: Oh, that makes me feel much better. Happy New Year, anyway.
>> Simon: Wait, wait, is it too late to say how absolutely gorgeous you look?
>> Lily: It's never too late for that.
>> Simon: All right, fine. You look absolutely gorgeous.
>> Lily: Thank you.
>> Simon: Happy New Year.


Scene 4:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Lobby

BOB HUGHES, KIM HUGHES, KATIE KASNOFF, HENRY COLEMAN

>> Bob: Are you saying this diamond belongs to you?
>> Katie: No, not exactly. But I'd like to borrow it to prove a point to somebody. Now, I know, before you say anything, I know. I know what you're going to say. But don't worry, I'll be extra specially careful with it. You can trust me, I'm Margo's sister.
>> Kim: Wait a minute, does this have something to do with your book? I mean, there was a jewel theft in that, wasn't there?
>> Katie: I promise, I will explain everything once the mystery is solved. But right now, I just really need that diamond, please?
>> Bob: Well, okay. You can have it 'til midnight. But if someone sees that notice, and then calls me about it, what do I say if you have the diamond?
>> Katie: I promise that won't happen. But if it does, I'll be sure to bring it back.
>> Bob: Okay. We should go.
>> Kim: Yeah.
>> Katie: Thank you.
>> Henry: Would you look at that? How did you get your hands on that?
>> Katie: Who cares? The important thing is, once Jack gets a hold of this, Simon will be going to jail before everyone can sing "Auld Lang Syne."
>> Henry: Oh, you sentimental fool, you.
>> Katie: What are you doing?
>> Henry: You might want to change your master plan there, sweetheart.


Scene 5:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Lobby

HENRY COLEMAN, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Henry: Putting simon behind bars is --
>> Katie: Will not guarantee that I get Mike back. Blah, blah, blah, blah --
>> Henry: There's a lot of truth in those blahs, honey.
>> Katie: Well, what am I supposed to do, Henry? This is my only hope.
>> Henry: How about a nice little cooling off period, and then go to Mike with a nice Bordeaux and some flowers?
>> Katie: It's been weeks since mike left me. He's already talking about starting divorce proceedings. This is the only hope I have. If I don't use -- would you stop?
>> Henry: Listen, would your forget about Simon, please? Vengeance is not an aphrodisiac. Now, if you keep on obsessing about him --
>> Katie: Wait a second. I know what this is.
>> Henry: What what is?
>> Katie: Simon plied you with martinis, didn't he? He asked you to get me to back off.
>> Henry: Okay, yeah, you're right about the martinis. But he did not talk about himself. He talked about Carly. I really think he's in love with her, I do --
>> Katie: Well, guess what? I'm in love with Mike. Whose side are you on?
>> Henry: Who helped you steal the faux diamond from Carly's house, huh?
>> Katie: All right, look, there is a bottom line here, Henry, and this is what it is. I may have committed the crime of ruining my marriage, but Simon committed a crime that is punishable by law. And I'm not going to stop until he pays for it.


Scene 6:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Dining Room

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER, JACK SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF, PARKER

>> Parker: That song -- is that the one you and mom used to dance to in the living room?
>> Jack: Good ear, buddy. Carly, what do you say? You want to -- you want to dance?
>> Carly: I'd love to.
>> Jack: Okay, I know it wasn't easy giving up Frasier.
>> Carly: Well, you made it pretty clear. It was either Simon or my children.
[ Cell phone rings ]
>> Jack: Snyder.
>> Katie: I need you to meet me in the lounge at the Lakeview.
>> Jack: Katie, can't you give it a rest? For just one night?
>> Katie: I've got it, Jack. I've got the proof you need to put Simon away for good.
>> Jack: I'm a minute away. Sorry to cut our dance short.
>> Carly: Police business?
>> Jack: I won't be long.
[ Cell phone rings ]
>> Parker: I'm going to hit the punch bowl.
>> Carly: Hello?
>> Simon: Either you meet me upstairs in my room in five minutes, or I'm going to come over there, take you in my arms and kiss you in front of this whole damn party.


Scene 7:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Room

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

>> Simon: Time's up, Carly.
>> Carly: Simon, if Jack knew I was here.


Scene 8:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Lobby

HENRY COLEMAN, JACK SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF, JEWELER

>> Henry: Hey, Maria? Over here. Over here.
>> Jeweler: Henry, my favorite bad boy.
>> Henry: Oh, man, that's what they all say.
>> Jeweler: Now, the last time I saw you, you were about to pull off --
>> Henry: That's been a long time, hasn't it? Yeah, the reason I called you, and man, oh, man, don't you look delicious. The reason I called you, was I have something to unload and I figured you'd be just the person to talk to.
>> Jeweler: It is nice to be remembered. Oh, let's see here. Did Simon Frasier give this to you or did you lift it?
>> Henry: I do not know what you refer to.
>> Jeweler: Come on. We both know this is from the royal necklace that Simon fenced. Were you the one who helped him pull off the heist?
>> Jack: Henry had nothing to do with it. But you did, Ms. Bealer.
>> Jeweler: Hey, what is this?
>> Jack: May I?
>> Henry: Yeah.
>> Jack: I'm placing you under arrest. You have the right to remain silent.
>> Jeweler: Henry --
>> Jack: Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law --
>> Jeweler: You set me up.
>> Henry: Yeah, well, those are breaks, sweetheart.
>> Jack: You have the right to an attorney --
>> Jeweler: Dirty double-crossing liar --
>> Jack: One will be appointed to you -- right, right this way.
>> Henry: Poor girl. She never knew what hit her.
>> Katie: Yeah, neither will Simon. This is finally the beginning of the end for him.


Scene 9:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Room

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

>> Carly: Simon, you're not going to believe this, but I came up here to tell you to back off.
>> Simon: Is that what you want?
>> Carly: No. No, of course not. But it's the way it has to be.
>> Simon: Because jack says so, huh?
>> Carly: He's trying to protect me and the kids.
>> Simon: Oh, that's not true and you know it. Jack is clutching at anything to keep you close. But threatening to take your kids away from you? I'm not going to let that happen because I'm not going to get caught. Carly, we got rid of that diamond. Why won't you accept that?
>> Carly: Maybe because the last time we were certain it was gone, it showed up in my daughter's science project!
>> Simon: Okay, and listen, if by some wicked turn of fate it shows up again, there is nothing to trace it back to us. So, the only thing keeping us apart is Jack. Are you going to let them happen? Or are you going to believe me when I tell you, sweetheart, we have nothing to worry about.


Scene 10:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Lobby

JACK SNYDER, KATIE KASNOFF

>> Jack: Take Ms. Bealer down to the station. Book her on fraud and conspiracy. Leave a little room at the bottom of the page. I have a feeling there's a whole host of things we might want to add later.
>> Katie: All right. She was just small potatoes, and you know it. Stop stalling. Go upstairs and arrest Simon. Now.


Scene 11:
Location: Oakdale
Scene: Lakeview Towers Hotel Room

SIMON FRASIER, CARLY SNYDER

>> Carly: Simon? I have to go.
>> Simon: Wait, wait, wait. Just five more minutes, please?
>> Carly: Oh, please. Please don't do this.
>> Simon: What Jack is asking of you is wrong.
>> Carly: Please. Please let me go.
>> Simon: I can't. And you don't want me to.
