Scene 1:
Place: Deserted island off of the North Carolina coast - Atlantic Ocean.
Location: The cave.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
[Lily is looking at the pictures of Rose and Holden]
>> Simon: What are you doing? Don't torture yourself.
>> Lily: I keep asking myself the same question, "How can he not know that it's her?"
>> Simon: I don't have the answer Lily. But look, look over here. More of Cooley's moonshine. Pour you a cup?
>> Lily: Oh, why not?
>> Simon: Will you stop looking at them? Those pictures are just the briefest moments in time. You don't really know what's
going on underneath.
>> Lily: If that's not happy, I don't know what is. Look at that, come on. Maybe Holden prefers to be with Rose. Maybe we
never had that one true bond together.
>> Simon: Come on. You don't believe --
>> Lily: Maybe that everything we shared is a lie.
>> Simon: You don't believe that for a second.
>> Lily: I believe these pictures, I do. You know what, I'm stuck here on this island and Rose has, what, my family, my
husband, my children, whatever home that I thought I had is gone. It's gone.
Scene 2:
Location: The cave.
LILY SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Simon: Come on, Lily. Go easy on that moonshine. It's pretty -- it's pretty strong stuff. Lily, come on. You haven't eaten
anything since the morning. Come out. There's a storm rolling in. We've got to go back inside. Lily! Come on.
>> Lily: Hold on to your mud flaps, boys! The show's about to start.
>> Simon: What are you doing?
>> Lily: Oh, didn't you tell me that we should just take a break, we've been working too hard? Isn't that what you said to
me?
>> Simon: Yeah, but you are --
>> Lily: Shh -- [Lily walks in and has 2 large palms in front of her imitates Rose] Chill Relax. Enjoy the Atlantic City Boardwalk
Plaza Hotel and Casino's finest -- whatever. [Lily giggles] just sit back and relax.
>> Simon: Don't do anything that I might enjoy and you are going to regret in the morning.
>> Lily: Now, would I do that? Hmm?
>> Simon: Lily --
>> Lily: Rose, honey! Rose D'Angelo. That's my name. Rose took my life. I'm going to take hers. You like what you see?
>> Simon: What's not to like?
>> Lily: Well, it's easy when you dress the tart -- oops, "part." You want to see more?
>> Simon: I don't think I can stop you, so bring it on.
>> Lily: How do you make a Rose cocktail?
>> Simon: I don't know, tell me. How do you make a Rose cocktail?
>> Lily: Well, it's very easy. The first thing you have to do is throw away all of your morals. Lie to some innocent children and a
naive husband. Stir it up with a little spice, and -- here I am. You want to know what Rose's claim to fame is? Hmm? Two things.
Two very important things. Only two. You want to see my biggest assets?
>> Simon: You're torturing me. But please, don't stop.
>> Lily: You want to see more? Come a little closer. That's it, that's close enough. So, say good-bye to the mousey little
housewife and hello to -- paradise! [Lily removes the palms and she is still fully clothed] Sorry. You can take the girl out of
Oakdale, but underneath these palms, I'm still --
>> Simon: Unbelievable. We should get back up to the cave before the storm sets in.
>> Lily: No, honey. Rose always wants 'em to beg for more, so are you ready to beg?
>> Simon: Yes. [Lily yells] before we get drenched.
Scene 3:
Location: The cave.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
[ Lily yells ]
>> Lily: It's time for the next show of Rockin' Rosie!
>> Simon: Easy, Rose. You're shivering.
>> Lily: Oh, that'll help.
>> Simon: No, no, no, maybe you've had enough of that. Maybe you've had enough.
>> Lily: I don't think I'll have enough of anything for the rest of my life. I know how we can get warm.
>> Simon: Yeah? Well, I'm open to --
>> Lily: Close your eyes.
>> Simon: What? No, why?
>> Lily: Don't you trust me?
>> Simon: No.
>> Lily: Then close your eyes. Just close your eyes. Please?
>> Simon: I'm not taking my eyes off you.
>> Lily: Okay, have it your way.
>> Simon: How is it?
>> Lily: I don't know. I'll let you know in a sec - [Lily gets into the spring] Oh! It's perfect. Are you gonna stand there, or are you
gonna come on in and get warm?
>> Simon: You know, I don't think there's room for two in there.
>> Lily: I'll make room. The water's perfect. What are you still doing all the way over there? Hmm? That's better.
Scene 4:
Location: The cave.
SIMON FRASIER AND LILY SNYDER
>> Simon: No.
>> Lily: Here.
>> Simon: You finish.
>> Lily: No, I'm okay.
>> Simon: You missed a spot. [Thunder crashing] Turn around, I'll do your hair. Turn around.
>> Lily: It's okay, I'll finish.
>> Simon: Shh. It's okay. I'm almost done.
>> Lily: Where's the hooch?
>> Simon: Now, is that Lily or Rose talking?
>> Lily: Guess.
>> Simon: Guess. Well, you know what my guess is? My guess is that Lily doesn't want a stinking hangover in the morning.
>> Lily: Oh, yes. Lily always does plan ahead, doesn't she? She's so responsible. Blah. Give me a drink. Please, please give
me a drink.
>> Simon: All right, here you go.
>> Lily: You are my guardian angel. But remind me never to book this resort again.
[Thunder crashes]
>> Simon: You know, being castaways does have its advantages. It teaches you what really matters.
>> Lily: Such as?
>> Simon: Such as -- the true value of a really good jug of moonshine.
>> Lily: Yeah. Yeah, among other things. But on a scale of one to five, you'd give this place three stars?
>> Simon: No, no, no. My rating -- I'm going to give it four. Four stars. An extra star for the most excellent company.
>> Lily: Oh, well, thank you very much. I'll have a sip of that. You know, as traveling mates go, you are top shelf. You're the
best, except for Holmen. [Simon laughs] What? What did I say?
>> Simon: You mean Holden.
>> Lily: Holden. It's what I said.
>> Simon: No, no, you said "Holmen." Holmen.
>> Lily: Holmen? No, I said Holden.
>> Simon: You said "Holmen."
>> Lily: Holden. Hol-den. Holden.
>> Simon: Cheers to Holmen.
>> Lily: Cheers to Holmen.
[Laughter]
Scene 5:
Location: The cave.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Lily: That's enough. That's enough. Thank you very much. They're playing my song.
>> Simon: You have a song?
>> Lily: Yes, I want to dance. Let's go.
>> Simon: Now?
>> Lily: Let's go! You promised me if I had to be stuck on this island you would dance with me.
>> Simon: Yeah? When did I promise that?
>> Lily: Remember? I was dancing with you and I was humming a little song and - did I dream that? Tell me I didn't.
>> Simon: Maybe we both dreamed it. All right, let's dance, you supply the music.
>> Lily: I will be glad to supply the music, but you have to lead.
>> Simon: Well, it would be my pleasure.
>> Lily: [singing] "Someday, when I'm awfully low, and the world is cold, I will feel the glow just thinking of you and the way the
look tonight." [hums]
>> Simon: The storm is finished.
>> Lily: Is it? I hadn't noticed. [still humming]
Scene 6:
Location: The cave.
LILY WALSH SNYDER AND SIMON FRASIER
>> Lily: Whoa! I guess Miss Lydia's dance classes really paid off.
>> Simon: Shh, shh, shh! Okay, pretend we're in the ballroom of a world-famous hotel. The orchestra's taking requests. It's
Gershwin.
>> Lily: I haven't thought about Miss Lydia's in years. All the Oakdale debs went there. It kept us wholesome and pure.
>> Simon: And out of trouble?
>> Lily: It was the closest thing to sex we could get. Oh, you are light on your bare feet.
>> Simon: Oh, well, it's my partner. She's just like air.
>> Lily: Oh, Simon, you're incredible. You're an incredible dancer.
>> Simon: And you, Lily, are what dreams are made of. You are a woman that most men search their whole lives for and never
find.
[Simon and Lily kiss.]
